Why would it be like this? This is the fundamental difference between the human race and the beast race. Humans possess three souls and seven physical souls, with only one soul governing vitality, whereas beasts possess only a single soul.
The dispersal of the soul has its advantages—for instance, richer emotions and a greater capacity for thought. But the vulnerabilities are equally obvious: the human soul is in a weak position, while beast souls are naturally powerful. Therefore, whether in physical strength or longevity, the beast race holds the advantage.
Only by cultivating a Nascent Soul can one change this disadvantaged situation.
