Su Weiwei was a surgeon who, aside from going to work at the hospital, spent all her time at home as a shut-in, binge-watching dramas or reading web novels.
One night, while reading a novel online, she fell asleep slumped over her computer desk. In a hazy daze, she dreamed she was engaging in Dual Cultivation with a man of unearthly, stunning beauty. The ethereal scenes in the dream made her feel weightless and intoxicated, unable to stop, until a sudden jolt shocked her fully awake. To her horror, she found herself completely naked, straddling a man and performing shameful, intimate movements. A wave of dizziness washed over her. It was no dream! Weiwei nearly passed out on the spot.
Just as her mind went blank, the man beneath her snapped his eyes open, his deep gaze carrying a hint of shock and fury. Terrified, Weiwei let out a scream, tumbled off the man in a panic, and hastily clutched her chest.
"Who... who are you? What, what is going on between us?!" Weiwei's voice trembled, filled with terror, shock, and humiliation.
The stunningly handsome man spoke coldly, "I should be the one asking that. I was poisoned."
Completely bewildered, Weiwei looked around. They were in a cave, immersed in a pool of hot springs. She racked her brains, remembering only that she had fallen asleep reading a novel. How on earth did she end up here?
The man watched the flustered Weiwei, a flicker of doubt crossing his eyes. He stood up, climbed out of the pool, threw on his clothes, and looked Weiwei up and down as if pondering something. Circulating his internal energy for a full cycle, he discovered that the poison in his body had been neutralized. He looked at Weiwei in astonishment. Could this woman possess the legendary, millennium-rare Detoxifying Sacred Body?
Weiwei was so tense she scarcely dared to breathe, her heart pounding furiously as she wondered what would happen next. *It's over, it's over! Is this handsome man going to kill me?*
Just as fear filled Weiwei's heart, the man slowly spoke, "Don't be afraid. You neutralized my poison, so you saved my life."
Weiwei blinked, her eyes full of disbelief. "Re... really? Then you're not going to kill me?"
The man gave a slight nod. "Still, your Detoxifying Sacred Body is quite rare. I am rather curious."
Looking completely lost, Weiwei stood in the hot spring, her bare upper body and full breasts so exposed that the man turned his head away in embarrassment. "Detoxifying Sacred Body? I have no idea what that is. All I remember is falling asleep while reading a novel, and the moment I opened my eyes, I was here."
Pensive, the man murmured, "Perhaps some twist of fate brought you here, and coincidentally lifted my poison."
Desperate to seize this lifeline, Weiwei chimed in, "Great hero, since I saved you, we're even now. Let me go back, please."
Seeing Weiwei's panicked and eager expression, a trace of amusement stirred in the man's heart. "Fine. Put on your clothes first, and I'll escort you out."
Lowering her gaze to her naked body, Weiwei blushed and said, "Turn around first."
The man turned his back, and Weiwei hurriedly scrambled onto the bank to put on her clothes. Seeing she was dressed, the man led Weiwei out of the cave.
Once outside, a sharp pain shot through Weiwei's head, and memories that did not belong to her flashed through her mind.
As it turned out, this body existed on the Cultivation Continent. Her name was also Su Weiwei, eighteen years old, and she was the unfavored third young miss of the Su Family, a cultivation clan in Hancheng. Her biological mother had died when she was young. Because of a peculiar constitution, she had failed to develop a Spirit Root and could not cultivate. Despite her lack of a Spirit Root, she possessed peerless, breathtaking beauty, which often made her a target for bullying by others in her family. In the Cultivation Continent—a world where the strong reigned supreme—people revered cultivation and worshipped the powerful.
On this occasion, the eldest miss of the Su Family, consumed by jealousy over Weiwei's beauty, had hired thugs to dump her into the Demonic Beast Forest, hoping she would be devoured by Demonic Beasts. While fleeing from a pursuing Demonic Beast, she had somehow stumbled into the cave and encountered a man suffering from hallucinogenic poison, who had forcefully taken her without a word of explanation.
As Weiwei digested these memories, an internal howl echoed in her heart. *Good heavens! I'm a homebody. If you made me transmigrate into a retro era or farming novel, I could use modern knowledge to thrive. But what is this? Why transmigrate me into a cultivation novel? And you didn't even give me a cheat item—a natal space would have been nice!*
At the mention of space, Weiwei remembered that the original owner wore half a jade pendant carved with half a Twin Lotus. She quickly felt for the red string around her neck and pulled the pendant from her chest. The half-pendant was a deep, solid green, stained with blood from an unknown injury she must have sustained earlier. Suddenly, a flash of white light appeared, and Weiwei's consciousness sank into a spatial dimension.
The space was a vast expanse of whiteness, with a lotus pond at the center. Next to the pond stood a golden, gleaming plaque. Puzzled, she stepped closer and read the inscription: "Twin Lotus Karma Pond." *What kind of nonsense is this?* She walked past the lotus pond and spotted a bamboo house bearing the sign "Karma Space."
*No way! Did heaven really give me a cheat item? A "Karma Space"? Am I supposed to play Matchmaker?*
Forget it, she would go inside and take a look first. Pushing open the door of the bamboo house, she found the interior remarkably spacious. *Could this be the folded space described in sci-fi novels?*
The space was divided into several rooms: an alchemy room, an artifact-crafting room, a kitchen, a bedroom, and a library pavilion. Just as she wanted to push open the bedroom door to take a look, she heard a man's voice calling in her ear, "Miss? Miss, what's wrong with you?"
Weiwei hurriedly pulled her consciousness back to reality, clutching the jade pendant tightly in her hand.
Seeing Weiwei's expression shift and her silence as she clutched the pendant in deep thought, the man asked, "Did you remember something?"
Unwilling to return to the Su Family, Weiwei feigned amnesia and pressed a hand to her temple. "I might have suffered a head injury and lost my memory. I can't remember anything at all."
Seeing the scraped skin on her forehead and looking at the pendant in her hand, the man was utterly astonished. Why was this half-pendant an exact match for the one around his neck?
His master had once told him: the woman who wore the exact same jade pendant as him would be his Chosen One, as well as the Detoxifying Sacred Body. After uniting with him in intimacy, she would cure the congenital poison he had carried since birth. If they were to conceive offspring, regardless of gender, the children would possess the Five-Element Spirit Root Cultivation Sacred Body. Furthermore, if he united with such a woman and they achieved true emotional harmony and mutual affection, their respective spaces would merge into one—not only expanding the space but allowing them to share it, enabling them to meet within the space no matter how far apart they were. Frequent Dual Cultivation would also cause their respective cultivation powers to soar.
At this thought, he pulled the other half of the jade pendant from inside his tunic and compared it to the piece in Weiwei's hand. They locked together to form a single, complete Twin Lotus jade pendant!
Weiwei gasped in surprise, "Hey, why do you have the other half of my jade pendant?"
Looking at Weiwei with complex emotions, the man said, "Since you've lost your memory, come away with me! We've been betrothed since childhood; this half-pendant is our token of engagement. I am Wuchen, the Northern Wasteland King. You can consider yourself my fiancée."
Perhaps it was destiny that had sent this woman to his side and mistakenly united them to cure his poison. Since his master said she was his Chosen One, he would first trick her back to the Northern Wasteland, slowly cultivate feelings between them, help her grow in cultivation until she fell in love with him, and then hold a grand wedding to announce to the Four Seas and Eight Desolations that she was the Queen of the Northern Wasteland.
Looking skeptical, Weiwei felt deep wariness toward this abruptly materialized childhood betrothal. "I really can't remember anything. How do I know if what you're saying is true?"
Wuchen smiled helplessly, his stunning face making Weiwei's head spin. "This pendant cannot be fake. Come with me to the Northern Wasteland, and perhaps your memories will gradually return."
Weiwei hesitated. She was a naive homebody without a Spirit Root for cultivation; returning to the Su Family would certainly yield no good days. Besides, this godlike man didn't look like a terrible person. At twenty-five and still single, Weiwei thought that having a romance with this breathtaking man wouldn't be bad either. Going to the Northern Wasteland might even bring a turning point. Whatever, she would find a foothold to settle down first. The Northern Wasteland couldn't possibly be a freezing, desolate northern wilderness, right?
And so, she followed Wuchen and embarked on the journey to the Northern Wasteland.
