Under Wuchen's guidance, Weiwei progressed rapidly in her cultivation. Seeing Wuchen use a purification spell to clean a stain off his clothes, she begged him to teach her magic as well. Wuchen smiled helplessly, and meeting her hopeful gaze, he finally agreed.
He began patiently explaining the essentials of the purification spell to her. Weiwei studied diligently, but whenever she tried to cast it, things went wrong in all sorts of ways.
On her first attempt, she failed to control the force of the spell properly. Instead of cleaning her clothes, she ended up smudging her face with soot. Feeling somewhat discouraged, she lowered her head and mumbled softly that she was too stupid.
Wuchen gently patted her head and comforted her, "Don't be impatient. Everything is difficult at first; just practice more and you'll get the hang of it." Encouraged by Wuchen, Weiwei cheered up and tried again and again.
Finally, after a few more failures, a soft glow radiated from her hands, and her clothes instantly became clean and tidy. Weiwei jumped up with excitement, her eyes shining like twinkling stars.
She threw her arms around Wuchen and said happily, "Thank you, Wuchen! I learned it!" Wuchen's face flushed slightly. He patted her back gently, the corners of his mouth curving upward on their own. The little thing had grown much closer to him; given time, winning her heart would be a breeze.
"My King, this subordinate has something to report!" Uncle Kun, the master of Holy Sword Manor, called out from outside the courtyard gate.
"Come in!" At Wuchen's command, Uncle Kun hurried into the courtyard, dropped to one knee, and said with an anxious expression, "My King, word has come that the Demon Race recently seems to be secretly plotting a large-scale operation, and their target is very likely our region."
Wuchen furrowed his brow, his expression turning serious. He released Weiwei, stood up, and asked, "Have you gathered any specific details?" Uncle Kun shook his head and replied, "Not yet, but their movements are covert and they are coming with hostile intent."
Hearing the words "Demon Race," Weiwei felt a jolt in her heart and looked at Wuchen with worry. Wuchen gave her a reassuring look, then turned to Uncle Kun and said, "Keep a close eye on the movements of the Demon Race, gather the elite forces of the manor, and make defensive preparations."
Uncle Kun acknowledged the order and hurried away. Looking at Weiwei, Wuchen said earnestly, "Weiwei, there may be danger ahead. You must stay safely in the manor to cultivate and not run around." With that, he took a robe that gleamed with five-colored light from his spatial storage and draped it over Weiwei's shoulders. "This is the Five-Color Feather Garment. Wearing it not only defends against attacks and detects poisons, but it also changes styles according to your wishes."
As he spoke, he used his teeth to prick Weiwei's finger so she could drip her blood to bind it. Instantly, a flash of light enveloped Weiwei, and she heard a feminine voice echo in her mind, "Master, I am the Artifact Spirit Caiyi, and I will protect you with my life."
Although somewhat frightened, Weiwei nodded firmly. "I'll be obedient and cultivate well. You must be careful too." Wuchen smiled gently and stroked her head. "Rest assured, with me here, you are safe. Beiyi and Beier, protect the Queen well."
Beiyi and Beier stepped forward. "Rest assured, My King, this subordinate will not fail your trust!"
Afterward, he went off to make arrangements for dealing with the Demon Race, as an unknown crisis quietly approached. Watching Wuchen's departing back, Weiwei's heart was filled with anxiety.
Over the following days, she followed Wuchen's instructions and practiced diligently every day. Meanwhile, Beiyi and Beier kept watch by her side at all times, not daring to slack off for even a moment.
During the days while Wuchen was away, she entered the Karma Space to explore.
