Chapter 15

The scene terrified those inside the private room. Mu Weiyang had never witnessed such a sight and began to scream in fear. Mu Qingyi hurriedly pulled her into her arms, whispering soft words of comfort. The lackeys Yang Hong had brought were equally terrified; their faces turned pale, and they joined in the frantic screaming.
They had assumed Shen Ye was a pushover, an honest man they could toy with at will. But they were wrong—Shen Ye was a ruthless man of few words, and they had just kicked a steel plate. Yang Hong lay on the ground, twitching as his life rapidly ebbed away. His arrogance was gone, his eyes now filled with regret and a desperate plea for help.
One of the lackeys stammered, "Y-y-you... you actually dared to kill Young Master Yang! You're finished. Young Master Yang's uncle is Du Liren, the Underground King of Ningjiang! He doted on Young Master Yang more than anyone. Just wait for his wrath."
Shen Ye remained silent, his demeanor one of cold indifference and utter contempt. Xiao Daodao stood up and said, "Shen Ye, take Qingyi and the others and leave. I'll handle what comes next."
Shen Ye nodded and led Mu Qingyi and the others out of the room. Not long after, Xiao Daodao emerged, smiling, "Running into that trash was truly bad luck. Let's find somewhere else to eat; don't let it ruin our mood."
It took quite a while before the manager of Yunxiang Restaurant dared to quietly enter the private room. Upon seeing the carnage inside, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted on the spot. The room was filled with dismembered limbs; there wasn't a single corpse left intact.
After their meal, Shen Ye dropped the three of them off at the Ningjiang Hotel and did not return to his rental apartment. The incident had hit Mu Weiyang, a university student, the hardest.
"Qingyi, is Weiyang alright?" "I'm sorry, it was my lack of foresight. I promise this won't happen again." Shen Ye felt a sense of guilt; he should have kept Mu Weiyang away from such things.
Mu Qingyi hugged his arm and said softly, "Don't worry, Weiyang isn't that fragile; she understands. You didn't do anything wrong. They were bad people. You were just ridding the world of a pest; that man deserved to die."
Mu Qingyi then added with concern, "I've heard about this Underground King of Ningjiang. People say he has influence everywhere, both in the light and the dark—he’s a ruthless man. His power is immense; no one in Ningjiang dares to cross him. Even the Chen family, who seemed so powerful, are nothing but grandchildren before him. Since you killed his nephew, he won't let this go. He’ll definitely come for revenge."
Shen Ye laughed, unimpressed. "He’s just a petty Underground King in Ningjiang, nothing more. To me, he’s nothing but trash. Don't worry about it; I will handle it. Just stay at the hotel for now. Once I find a suitable house, we'll move."
...
In a high-end villa in Ningjiang.
"Second Master, something terrible has happened!" The steward rushed into the living room, shouting in a panic.
Sitting on a rosewood chair was a burly old man radiating a murderous aura. A jagged scar across his face only added to his ferocity. Du Liren’s expression darkened as he barked, "What is this panic? What kind of behavior is this? Who in Ningjiang would dare run wild on my, the Underground King's, turf?"
Du Liren was a composed and arrogant man; he did not believe anyone could defy him.
The steward said tremblingly, "Second Master, news just arrived: your nephew Yang Hong was killed at the hotel!"
Du Liren froze for a second. Then, a murderous light flared in his eyes. He rose from his chair like a raging tiger and roared, "What did you say? Who was killed?"
"Young Master Yang... he was killed..."
Du Liren let out a heaven-shaking roar, his eyes wide and burning like a predator's. "Who did this? Who killed my beloved nephew? Whoever they are, I will wipe out their entire family!"
Du Liren was exploding with rage. Not only had his favorite nephew been killed, but his dignity as the Underground King had been trampled. As a man in his position, he could never let such a slight go unpunished.
The steward quickly reported, "Young Master Yang went to Yunxiang Restaurant to eat today. He got into a conflict with a group over a private room and two women. That group was ruthless—they didn't just kill the Young Master; they killed every single one of his lackeys. Not a soul was left alive. I’ve brought the hotel manager here; please, Second Master, deal with him as you see fit."
As the steward finished, the manager was dragged in by two men. He knelt on the ground, wailing, "Second Master, it wasn't my fault! It was Young Master Yang who insisted on taking other people's room and women..."
Du Liren grabbed an iron baseball bat and walked toward the manager, his voice chilling. "So, according to you, my nephew was the one seeking death?"
Terrified, the manager slammed his head against the floor, begging, "Second Master, have mercy! I was wrong! Please don't kill me; I have a wife and children to support..."
*CRACK!*
Du Liren slammed the bat into the manager's head. Blood splattered everywhere as the man collapsed, motionless. Like a mad dog, Du Liren continued to rain blows down, snarling, "I, Du Liren, am the heaven of Ningjiang! Who dares to defy me here? It was just a room and two women—so what if my nephew took them? If my nephew wants a woman, it is her blessing. She should have stripped naked and waited for him! To kill my nephew over such trifles—I will slaughter you all!"
A moment later, Du Liren stopped, his body splattered with blood and brain matter. Two men dragged the mangled remains of the manager away.
Du Liren received a call from his younger sister. He spoke in a low, gravelly voice, "Little sister, I know. Don't worry, none of the killers will escape. I will slaughter their entire family to pay tribute to my nephew."
He hung up and asked with murderous intent, "Who is the killer, and where are they?" He didn't ask if they had been found; he asked for results—a testament to his confidence in his power.
The steward replied immediately, "Second Master, we’ve found them. It's a young man of no reputation. He's currently staying at the Ningjiang Hotel. I've already sent men to keep watch."
Du Liren said, full of malice, "Go, bring them to me. I don't want a single one left behind! I will hack them into pieces myself and feed them to the dogs to soothe my nephew's spirit."
The steward replied, "Rest assured, Second Master. Give me half an hour, and I will have the killers at your feet."
At his command, the dozen or so lackeys waiting at the Ningjiang Hotel moved. They injured the hotel security and charged toward the presidential suite where Shen Ye was staying.
Watching the lackeys storming in, Shen Ye’s eyes grew dark and lethal.
Xiao Daodao, radiating killing intent, said, "A group of fools who don't know what death is, daring to run wild here. I'll send you all to the afterlife!"
*SHING!*
Xiao Daodao drew her signature golden blade, Dragon Fang, and charged like a bolt of lightning.
*THUD! THUD! THUD!*
With every flash of the blade, a head fell. It was like slaughtering chickens; not a single lackey could withstand a single strike from her. In an instant, they were all cut down, leaving only one man behind.
"Please, don't kill me... I don't want to die..."
*SLASH!*
Xiao Daodao ended him with a cold, merciless stroke.
Shen Ye stared coldly at the pile of corpses and said, "Du Liren doesn't deserve to remain in this world. Kill him."
Xiao Daodao replied, her eyes burning with resolve, "I'm going to kill him!"
