Shen Ye sat cross-legged in a pavilion within the garden. The servants and help had all been dismissed, leaving the place quiet and undisturbed. Having gained so much recently, he needed to calm his mind, take stock of his situation, and plan his path forward in cultivation. Once he had thoroughly cleared his mind of distractions, Shen Ye turned his focus to his consciousness. Deep within, the faint glimmer of Elder Wu’s lingering consciousness had dimmed even further, becoming nearly invisible—even to Shen Ye, it now took significant effort to locate. Elder Wu’s condition was deteriorating rapidly; at this rate, he would completely vanish into nothingness within a few days. This left Shen Ye feeling helpless. Elder Wu had been his great benefactor, and he had truly wished for him to recover. However, looking at his state, the outcome was sealed; he had, at most, only a few days left. "Elder Wu, I am sorry," Shen Ye whispered. "It is not that I do not want to save you; it is simply that my strength is limited, and I am unable to do so. Please rest easy. I have accepted your legacy, and I will certainly grow stronger and keep you in my thoughts always. I will never forget your sacrifice."
