The sudden, shrill cry shocked the entire room. The guests looked on in confusion, bewildered by the unfolding scene. Upon hearing that familiar voice, however, Luosen’s face drained of color. It was as if a nerve had been struck; he lunged up from his chair. Inside the coffin, a young man with bleached hair was bound hand and foot. He bore a striking resemblance to Luosen. His face was bruised and swollen, his front teeth had been knocked out, and he was shrieking in sheer terror. The crowd gasped in astonishment; no one had expected there to be someone else inside the coffin. Seeing the man, Master Advisor’s eyes flashed with confusion, which quickly gave way to realization. Shen Ye signaled for his men to haul the youth out of the coffin and kick him until he knelt on the floor.
