Zhou Hao was furious; he had never seen a suspect so arrogant. He slammed his hand on the desk, stood up, and barked, "Chen Feiyu, don't think you can do whatever you want just because you made a phone call. This is the Ping'an Precinct, my turf. Even if you called the King of Heaven himself, it wouldn't matter!"
Chen Feiyu chuckled lightly and replied, "I hope you can maintain this level of confidence in a little while."
He trusted in the power of the Xie Family. If they couldn't even handle a small police precinct, Xie Anxiang might as well give up on being cured and just go knock his head against a block of tofu.
Zhou Hao suddenly strode over, stood before Chen Feiyu, and sneered, "Do you think just because Liu Shengnan is backing you, you can act so presumptuous in front of me? Let me tell you something you forgot: Deputy Chief Zhou is my uncle. Here, I make the rules. I’m going to throw you into a prison cell and have death-row inmates take turns bullying you every day. I’ll make you suffer all kinds of torture inside, and as for Liu Shengnan, she’ll be mine!"
Wang Taili laughed smugly, "This kid really has no eyes. To think he’d dare to fight Brother Zhou for a woman. Now that he’s fallen into our hands, he's really digging his own grave!"
The smile at the corners of Chen Feiyu’s mouth vanished, and his eyes turned sharp. They actually dared to have designs on his woman? They were truly courting death!
Zhou Hao sneered triumphantly, "What’s wrong? Scared now? Don't worry, the real fun only starts once you’re in prison. I’ll make sure you understand what it’s like to wish you were dead!"
"Who is it that’s going to wish they were dead?"
Suddenly, accompanied by a booming, authoritative voice, a middle-aged man in a police uniform strode in. It was Li Yanxiang, the chief of the Ping'an Precinct.
Zhou Guotai asked with a bewildered laugh, "Chief Li, what brings you here?"
Strangely, Li Yanxiang ignored him completely. He swept his gaze across the interrogation room and, upon spotting Chen Feiyu, hurried over, looking slightly ingratiating as he said, "You must be Mr. Chen, correct? I am truly sorry for the fright you’ve had to endure here."
Zhou Guotai, Zhou Hao, and Wang Taili were all stunned into silence.
Li Yanxiang was usually a man of his word in the station; when had he ever acted so subserviently toward a young man?
Zhou Guotai was the most perceptive of the three. Ever since they arrived, Chen Feiyu had only made one phone call, and in that call, he had mentioned the words "Xie Family." Could it be that Chen Feiyu knew people from the Xie Family?
At this thought, Zhou Guotai’s face turned deathly pale as a sense of impending doom washed over him.
"Chief Li, are you making a mistake?" Zhou Hao asked in shock. "He’s a criminal suspect. I’m in the middle of interrogating him."
"Shut your mouth!" Li Yanxiang roared. He raised his hand and slapped Zhou Hao across the face, mentally cursing him for an idiot. He then turned back to Chen Feiyu and continued with a fawning smile, "Mr. Chen, my subordinates are ignorant and offended you. These people are the rot of the police force, a disgrace to the department. Please rest assured, I will handle this strictly and see that you get justice!"
Zhou Hao was left dazed by the slap. His uncle was the deputy chief, and out of respect for him, Li Yanxiang had always been cordial. He never imagined that today, Li Yanxiang would slap him because of Chen Feiyu.
He wasn't a fool. After catching a warning glance from his uncle, he stiffened, immediately realizing that Chen Feiyu’s status was no small matter—they had kicked a wall of iron this time!
At that thought, his complexion turned ashen, and cold sweat poured down his body.
Chen Feiyu sat in the interrogation chair, eyes slightly closed, legs crossed, completely unmoved.
Cold sweat began to bead on Li Yanxiang’s forehead.
Just a short while ago, Su Yingxue had called him, and he immediately knew the matter was thorny. Su Yingxue was the shining pearl of Mingji City’s high society, and the Su Family was a major, deep-rooted power in the city. Even he, as the chief of the Ping'an Precinct, sat in his position thanks to the Su Family’s connections.
While he didn't know exactly who Chen Feiyu was, Su Yingxue’s tone had revealed how highly she valued him. The ever-composed and unattainable Su Yingxue—when had she ever concerned herself with a man like this? Chen Feiyu’s identity was absolutely extraordinary!
Before he could process this, Director Liu from the municipal bureau called, asking first if they had arrested someone named Chen Feiyu, and then launching into a scathing, face-slapping rebuke.
"I don't care what method you use, you must obtain Mr. Chen's forgiveness. If not, pack your bags and get out of that precinct-chief position immediately!" That was the last thing Director Liu had said.
In his heart, Li Yanxiang was already cursing Zhou Guotai and Zhou Hao for everything they were worth.
Chen Feiyu sat there calmly, and Li Yanxiang could only stand to the side, smiling subserviently, not daring to urge him at all. Zhou Guotai, Zhou Hao, and Wang Taili were all standing on pins and needles.
Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from outside, and two peerless beauties walked in.
Li Yanxiang and the others looked over and their faces shifted instantly: "Ms. Xie, President Han? Why are you here?"
A storm raged in Li Yanxiang’s heart. Besides his ties to the Su Family, Chen Feiyu actually knew the little princess of the Xie Family? Things had truly spiraled out of control.
Zhou Guotai had once seen Xie Xingchen from a distance and immediately realized his worst fears were confirmed. He knew Chen Feiyu had a profound connection with the Xie Family, a transcendent existence in Mingji City that could crush him like an ant.
*Damn you, Li Tongwei! You told me Chen Feiyu was just an ordinary person! He knows the Xie Family! The Xie Family! Never mind me, they could wipe you out without even breaking a sweat!*
Feeling completely hopeless, Zhou Guotai collapsed to the ground with a thud. Even Zhou Hao’s face turned deathly pale. He wasn't high-ranking enough to have met Xie Xingchen, but who else in all of Mingji City could be referred to as "Ms. Xie" while making the precinct chief and deputy chief so terrified? Zhou Hao knew he was finished, and a deep sense of dread took root in his heart.
Indeed, the arrivals were Xie Xingchen and Han Muqing.
The two women glared fiercely at Li Yanxiang before walking quickly to Chen Feiyu’s side.
"Mr. Chen, have you been wronged while here? Please rest assured, you are a distinguished guest of the Xie Family. To offend you is to offend us. I’d like to see who in all of Mingji City can withstand the wrath of the Xie Family!" Xie Xingchen said respectfully.
Li Yanxiang, Zhou Guotai, and Zhou Hao’s faces turned white instantly. They had initially thought Chen Feiyu just had a strong connection with the Xie Family, but they never imagined the princess of the Xie Family would be so deferential toward him.
Could it be that Chen Feiyu had an even more terrifying status?
Zhou Guotai, Zhou Hao, and Wang Taili were gripped by deep regret.
Only then did Chen Feiyu stand up. He smiled at Li Yanxiang and said, "Chief Li, thank you for your trouble, having to come down here yourself."
Li Yanxiang exhaled in relief, looked at Chen Feiyu with gratitude, and said excitedly, "It’s no trouble at all. We were in the wrong from the start, causing Mr. Chen such alarm. On behalf of the Ping'an Precinct, I offer you my solemn apology."
"Chief Li is too kind," Chen Feiyu said with a smile, then walked over to Zhou Hao and fixed a cold stare upon him.
"Th-this is a police station, what do you think you’re doing?" Zhou Hao’s expression shifted, and he stumbled backward, his legs turning to jelly, nearly collapsing to the floor.
Chen Feiyu turned away, eyes narrowed, and said with his hands behind his back, "Chief Li, I don't think some people are fit to be police officers. What do you think?"
As soon as these words were out, Zhou Guotai, Zhou Hao, and Wang Taili looked on in terror. Zhou Hao blurted out, "Chief Li, you can't listen to him! My uncle is the deputy chief!"
*You idiot, what’s a mere deputy chief in front of the Xie Family?*
Li Yanxiang glared at the three of them and cursed internally before stating solemnly, "Mr. Chen is quite right. Zhou Guotai and his two associates have abused their positions and power. From this moment on, they are dismissed from their posts and stripped of their police credentials. I will report this to Director Liu of the municipal bureau, and I trust he will agree."
Zhou Guotai, Zhou Hao, and their cohort turned sheet-white, drained of all color. Wang Taili was so distraught he nearly wept. *Dammit, I didn't even do anything! I was just using their name to bully people, and now I’ve lost my job too? What terrible luck.*
Chen Feiyu nodded in satisfaction. Without even sparing them another glance, he said to Han Muqing and Xie Xingchen, "Let’s go."
Li Yanxiang let out a long breath and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. It was easy to invite a god, but hard to send one away—having this great deity here was truly nerve-wracking.
Just as Chen Feiyu and the two women reached the door of the interrogation room, Han Muqing said, "Wait a moment."
Li Yanxiang’s heart leapt into his throat again.
Seeing Chen Feiyu’s confused look, Han Muqing smiled slightly, then turned around. Her face turned cold as she walked up to Zhou Hao and asked sharply, "Was it you who threatened Feiyu earlier, saying he would never get out of the station?"
"I... I..." Facing the breathtaking beauty of Han Muqing, Zhou Hao didn't even dare to meet her gaze, stammering and unable to speak.
A flicker of contempt crossed Han Muqing’s eyes. She raised her hand and slapped him across the face, sneering, "Idiot!"
With that, Han Muqing walked back to Chen Feiyu’s side, flashing a captivating smile as she said, "I feel better now. Let’s go."
Chen Feiyu’s eyes brightened; he found Han Muqing’s personality even more to his liking.
After the three stepped out of the police station, Li Yanxiang finally felt truly at ease. Chen Feiyu felt a hint of regret, as he hadn't seen his "younger wife."
Xie Xingchen’s Bugatti Veyron was parked at the entrance of the station, drawing looks of amazement and envy from passersby. Once they were all inside, Xie Xingchen stepped on the gas and drove off.
At that same moment, in a room in the building across from the police station, Jiang Tianhu lowered his binoculars, his heart filled with profound shock and fear.
"Chen Feiyu actually knows Ms. Xie and Han Muqing? His backing is way too solid! Damn it, Li Tongwei has ruined me! I almost got myself killed because of him!" Jiang Tianhu cursed furiously.
He had built his foundation relying on the Xie Family as his backing; in other words, the Xie Family was his master. How could he dare to go against them? Chen Feiyu had been brought into the police station, and the Xie princess and Han Muqing had come to collect him personally—how could this be anything but terrifying?
With such deep ties to the Xie Family, plus the fact that Chen Feiyu was a suspected "Nether Penetration" expert, if he wanted to kill him, it would be no harder than crushing an ant.
Thinking of this, cold sweat poured off Jiang Tianhu, and he immediately pulled out his phone and dialed.
"Hey, Brother Hu, we’re all ready. Don't worry, the moment Chen Feiyu comes out, he and everyone in that car will be dead!"
Jiang Tianhu broke out in a cold sweat. Xie Xingchen and Han Muqing were in that car! Daring to move against them was like throwing himself into a fire pit.
"Dammit, pull back! All of you, retreat! I mean everyone involved in the assassination—withdraw immediately! Do not make a move! Whoever dares to disobey, I’ll have their entire family killed!"
Jiang Tianhu hung up the phone, still uneasy, and muttered to himself, "Dammit, I was one step away from total ruin. Who knew Chen Feiyu knew such a powerhouse as Ms. Xie? No, I have to go see the family head tomorrow to test the waters. If I have to, I’ll offer an apology. Damn it, Li Tongwei, I’ve marked this grudge."
Chen Feiyu, naturally, was unaware of Jiang Tianhu’s fear. At that moment, he was sitting in the Bugatti, with Xie Xingchen driving and Han Muqing beside him—a level of treatment that very few in Mingji City could boast.
Chen Feiyu and Han Muqing sat in the back. Han Muqing was wearing only a white shirt, and because her chest was so full, the fabric seemed on the verge of popping open. A slight gap had opened between the top two buttons, revealing a glimpse of a black bra underneath.
Chen Feiyu glanced over, seeing this heart-fluttering sight, and combined with the faint, lingering fragrance, his heart skipped a beat.
"Mr. Chen, tomorrow is the day for the treatment," Xie Xingchen suddenly said.
Chen Feiyu remembered that tomorrow was indeed the day he had agreed to treat Xie Anxiang. If Xie Xingchen hadn't reminded him, he likely would have forgotten. He gave a sheepish laugh and said, "Thank you both for coming to the station to get me. There's no need to call me 'Mr. Chen' anymore—it sounds too distant. Just call me by my name. As for treating the old master, that’s no problem. Just come pick me up tomorrow."
"I’ll pick you up tomorrow," Han Muqing said immediately, as if afraid someone else would beat her to it.
"Oh? Sister Qing, so eager to volunteer? You wouldn't happen to have taken a liking to me, would you?"
Seeing Chen Feiyu’s suggestive gaze, Han Muqing felt shy and hurriedly explained, "Feiyu, because of you, I can now attend the core meetings of the Xie Family, and my status has risen along with it. This is just to thank you, don't get the wrong idea."
Chen Feiyu realized what she meant, but he had no interest in the Xie Family’s core meetings. Looking at Han Muqing’s seductive eyes, full figure, slender legs, and smelling her light perfume, the look of aggression in his eyes only grew stronger.
"Sister Qing, I’ve done you such a big favor. Isn't a simple ride home a bit underwhelming as a thank you?" Chen Feiyu said with a grin.
Han Muqing rolled her eyes at him, looking infinitely charming, and said, "Then tell me, how does sister need to repay you?"
Chen Feiyu laughed, "Why don't you treat me to a meal? How about a candlelight dinner at a couple’s restaurant?"
"Go on, you little brat, trying to tease your sister," Han Muqing giggled. "But the dinner is no problem. In a couple of days, I’ll treat you to a meal. Just don't refuse when the time comes."
"I’ll definitely give Sister Qing face. I’ll be waiting for our date," Chen Feiyu said happily.
A date?
Feeling bashful, Han Muqing’s face flushed pink, and she secretly chided him.
Watching the two flirt as if no one else were there, Xie Xingchen frowned slightly.
Han Muqing had business at her company, so Xie Xingchen dropped her off outside the Mingji Trade Building.
"Little brother, remember to wash up well for our date," Han Muqing said with a soul-stirring smile before departing, shy and happy.
Chen Feiyu couldn't help but look forward to the upcoming date.
"Feiyu, if I were you, I’d stay away from Sister Qing," Xie Xingchen said with a grave tone while driving.
"Oh? Why is that?" Chen Feiyu raised an eyebrow, curious.
Xie Xingchen explained, "The entire high society of Mingji City knows that my second uncle’s eldest son—my cousin—is madly in love with Sister Qing. He’s already declared that whoever dares to have designs on her is his enemy. Last year, some blind fool made a pass at her, and guess what happened? My cousin broke his legs and fed them to the dogs. I’m telling you this for your own good. Han Muqing is not someone you can touch."
Chen Feiyu smiled playfully. "Interesting. Do you think I’m afraid of this so-called cousin of yours?"
Looking through the rearview mirror, Xie Xingchen rolled her eyes at him. "I know your medical skills are superb and you’ve done a great service to our family, but even if the Xie Family stayed out of it, you would be no match for my cousin. Do you know why? Because my cousin isn't some spoiled rich kid. He started serving in the military at sixteen and became a top soldier within a year. He’s been on countless missions in Southeast Asia and the Middle East; he’s been tempered in blood and fire. You’re just a doctor. When the time comes, what could you possibly compete with him on?"
Xie Xingchen didn't know Chen Feiyu was a martial arts master—in the entire Xie Family, only Xie Anxiang, Xie Yongguo, and Uncle Zhong knew—which was why she spoke this way.
Chen Feiyu smiled faintly. "So what? You hold your cousin in high regard, but how much do you really know about me? At the end of the day, you’re just seeing the tip of the iceberg. How can mortal eyes understand the true capabilities of someone like me? I’ll tell you why I can compete with your cousin: because I possess the Nine Needles to heal the world; I have a fist that can suppress the world; and I have a sword that can test the world. A mere soldier? Chen Feiyu—what is there to regret about a fight? And what is there to fear?"
"You… hmph, you truly don't know what's good for you. You’ll have a bitter taste of reality soon enough!" Xie Xingchen hadn't expected such a stiff attitude after her well-meaning warning. *Hmph, no good deed goes unpunished!*
She felt annoyed and glared at him through the mirror. *Hmph, wait until my cousin comes, let’s see you keep bragging then!*
The atmosphere turned awkward. After dropping Chen Feiyu back at Tang Meilian’s place, Xie Xingchen left with a cold face, not saying another word the entire way.
Lin Yujia had been worried sick about Chen Feiyu, and only upon seeing his safe return did she finally relax. Qin Danya and Zhou Ruohua were also there, their expressions a mix of gratitude and shame. Chen Feiyu, naturally, didn't hold it against the young girls, especially since they were both rare campus beauties.
The next morning, Han Muqing drove her luxury car to pick up Chen Feiyu for the visit to the Xie Family. After he got in, he noticed she seemed troubled. With matters to attend to at the Mingji Trade Building, she hurried away after dropping him off.
When Chen Feiyu walked into the villa hall, the first person he saw was Xie Xingchen, dressed in a light blue dress and wearing Cartier jewelry, looking beautiful and moving. However, she still held a grudge about yesterday and didn't give him a pleasant look, rolling her eyes coldly.
"Young friend Chen, it’s been a few days. You look even more spirited," Xie Anxiang and Xie Yongguo had been waiting and immediately smiled as they walked up to greet him. Since the first treatment, Xie Anxiang’s body had recovered significantly and his complexion was much healthier, so he was naturally even more grateful.
Besides the three, there was also a young man in the hall, about thirty years old, whose features faintly resembled Xie Xingchen’s. He was wearing a dark suit and looked dignified.
Xie Yongguo introduced them, "Mr. Chen, let me introduce you. This is my son, Xie Xingchen, who currently runs an enterprise. Xingchen, this is Mr. Chen, whose medical skills are profound—unlike anything I’ve ever seen."
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Chen," Xie Xingchen said with a smile.
Chen Feiyu nodded, acknowledging the greeting, and went straight to the point: "Old Master Xie, let’s begin the treatment."
"Yes, yes, yes." Xie Anxiang had been impatient for a long time and followed Chen Feiyu into the meditation room.
Watching Chen Feiyu’s back, Xie Xingchen thought to himself, *Dad, who exactly is Chen Feiyu? Grandfather is so warm toward him. Even when Mayor Qin came to visit, Grandfather didn't even stand up to greet him.*
