Chapter 11

The notion that a birthing chamber is unclean and that a man’s presence would bring bad luck never applied to the Crown Princess.
The heir to the Heaven-Defying Magic Dragon Pillar and a princess who has given birth to the royal bloodline are fundamentally different.
Fengxiu burst into the delivery room and witnessed Bai Yue giving birth. He, who had only ever shed tears when visiting the grave of his beloved Bai Lingxuan, felt his eyes well up with moisture.
"Yue'er, let’s stop here. No more children!" Fengxiu said, his heart aching.
Bai Yue was drenched in cold sweat, screaming in agony; her memories of giving birth to Long Haochen were so distant that she had forgotten just how perilous the process was.
Hearing her father say "no more," Bai Yue’s phoenix eyes widened as she snapped, "You foolish father, you listen to me—Haochen is the apple of my eye. If you dare do him any harm, I will fight you to the death."
Her father was usually wise and formidable, yet he always seemed to lose his wits in this regard. How could one give birth to only half a child? One couldn't just stop halfway!
Gritting her teeth and steeling her resolve, the child finally emerged.
"Waaaah—" The high-pitched wail was a testament to the newborn's health.
Fengxiu held the tiny infant, his face full of disdain. "How ugly. He hasn't inherited a single bit of Yue'er’s beauty."
Bai Yue shot her father a sharp look. "If you think your grandson is ugly, then stop holding him and won't let go."
"I, his mother, haven't even held him yet! Besides, all newborns look wrinkled; he'll look much better once he grows into his features."
Fengxiu offered a sheepish smile. "Yue'er, you just gave birth; your body is weak, so don't you worry about holding him."
Though Fengxiu’s lips spoke of his grandson's ugliness, his heart was brimming with joy. When Agares and Vassago received word that Bai Yue had given birth to a big, healthy boy and hurried to the Demon God Emperor Palace, they found their leader busy coddling the infant.
Little Haochen lay in a specially crafted cradle, and Fengxiu was dangling a rattle before his eyes.
Little Haochen blinked his large, innocent eyes, looking at him blankly. Fengxiu boasted proudly, "Look how clever and sharp my grandson is! Those eyes are just like mine, cut from the same mold."
Agares and Vassago exchanged a helpless look.
They suddenly recalled when Bai Yue was first reunited with the family; the leader had been just as tireless in sharing the joy of having found his daughter.
"Big brother, has Yue'er named the child yet?" Vassago asked with a smile.
"Haochen. Yue'er decided on it long ago, but I find the name a bit too... human-sounding," Fengxiu frowned, clearly dissatisfied.
"Too human?" Agares asked, confused.
"‘Chen’ for the sun, ‘Hao’ for the rising light—this is exactly the sort of slogan those humans are always spouting!" Fengxiu declared as if it were obvious.
"It’s not anything else I’m worried about; I’m just afraid Yue'er still harbors some lingering attachment to Haochen’s biological father!"
"Why else would she give our grandson such a name?"
Hearing Fengxiu’s explanation, Agares and Vassago felt a jolt of realization as they understood their brother’s concern.
Haochen’s biological father was the Divine Knight Long Xingyu, hailed as the rising star of the younger generation of the Temple Alliance, who also held the title of the "Dawn Knight."
Thinking of it this way, the "Chen" in Haochen was indeed the same "Chen" as the Dawn Knight!
In a previous life, Haochen’s name had indeed stemmed from that, but in this life, Bai Yue felt not the slightest attachment to Long Xingyu. The only reason she hadn't changed the name was because of the dissuasion of System Liuliu.
[Host, Long Haochen is the Child of Destiny. His name cannot be changed, or it will affect the fortune he carries.]
[Host, if you truly mind the name, you can choose a demonic name for the Child of Destiny so he can use it within the Demon race and as his public identity while walking among us.]
However, Bai Yue was terrible at naming things. She racked her brains for a long time, but by the time Long Haochen was born, his demonic name had still not been decided.
Huang Shuo entered respectfully and reported, "Your Majesty, the Crown Princess asks that you select a demonic name for the little Prince from this list."
Huang Shuo handed over a scroll. Fengxiu opened it, and the corner of his mouth twitched.
Agares and Vassago leaned in, curious, and struggled to stifle their laughter. Vassago chuckled, "Big brother, Yue'er’s talent for naming is truly a family trait inherited from you."
Fengxiu intentionally stiffened his face and retorted, "What of it! I think the names Yue'er picked are just fine!"
"An'er, Yun'er, Chen'er, Yu'er..."
"These are clearly just nicknames—easy to call out."
"I think ‘Yu’ is quite good. A-Yu, Yu’er—it rolls right off the tongue."
Agares couldn't help but retort, "The last time you named A Bao, you were just as stubborn, claiming it was just a nickname. But when A Bao was finally added to the genealogy, that remained his name."
"What is wrong with choosing the name of a precious treasure?" Fengxiu asked righteously.
"Anyway, no matter how good-sounding a name is, whoever inherits the throne in the end will just have to change it to Fengxiu."
Fengxiu waved his hand and circled the characters for "Yu'er," telling Huang Shuo to take the scroll back to Bai Yue.
Just like that, Long Haochen’s demonic name was settled in a rather haphazard fashion. At least compared to Uncle A Bao’s name, his had a surname attached, making it slightly less ridiculous.
Feng Bao—the name sounded even softer and cuter than Feng Yu!
...
Days spent raising a child pass quickly, and in the blink of an eye, two years had gone by.
Long Haochen was taking his first steps, and the first word he learned to say was "Grandpa." The demon he was most attached to on a daily basis was also Fengxiu.
Bai Yue was happy to see the closeness between the grandfather and grandson. She didn't believe that when her father eventually discovered the reincarnation contract of the Heavenly Condemnation, he would still be able to bring himself to harm his grandson, given this bond of blood.
[Host, the Child of Destiny, Long Haochen, has been born for two years now, and the plot trajectory of the Divine Throne is gradually unfolding.]
[A friendly reminder, Host: the time you have left to remain within the Demon race is running out. Once Long Haochen turns three, you must return to Aoting Town from the Demon race; otherwise, it will cause bugs in the plot that cannot be corrected.]
The days spent in the Demon race had been the happiest of Bai Yue’s life, to the point where she had almost forgotten the existence of Long Xingyu.
It seemed it was time for her to go to the Heaven-Defying Magic Dragon Pillar to awaken her own bloodline and undergo cultivation.
Bai Yue told Fengxiu of her plan, and Fengxiu patted his chest, promising, "Don't worry, daughter, go ahead. I will watch over Haochen."
Bai Yue looked at the little brat, who was fast asleep on the Demon God Emperor’s throne—having even peed on the seat, soaking Fengxiu’s robes in the process.
She felt truly at ease leaving Haochen with the Emperor.
In the entire Holy Demonic Continent, Haochen was likely the only one with the courage and the honor to pee on the Demon God Emperor.
Inside the Heaven-Defying Magic Dragon Pillar, awakening one's bloodline required bathing in a blood pool. The blood in that pool was the blood left behind by generations of Demon God Emperors, used to increase the bloodline concentration of their descendants.
Therefore, no one but the Demon race's heir was permitted to enter, but Fengxiu had not told this to Bai Yue.
In Fengxiu’s eyes, the position of heir belonged to none other than Yue'er; he feared that if it were handed to any other demon, Yue'er might be bullied in the future.
