Chapter 4

Yue Anlan looked at the teary-eyed Abao with a throbbing headache, feeling almost as if she might die of exasperation.
"I'm sorry, I just..."
"I understand. You just had some dust in your eyes, didn't you? It wasn't intentional. So, can you stop crying now?"
"I..."
Anlan truly hadn't expected the successor of the noble Heaven-Defying Magic Dragon Clan to be so fragile as a child. He was nothing like the terrifying Demon God Emperor Fengxiu that Yue Anlan remembered. No wonder—despite being the Demon God Emperor's only son, his living conditions and personal belongings were barely better than those of a neglected Moon Demon Clan princess like her.
She had just looked into the matter: Abao was crying because he had overheard some malicious gossip.
People were saying he was a neglected prince and that the Demon God Emperor had rarely seen him since birth. His mother, who was infatuated with Demon God Emperor Fengxiu, didn't seem to care for him either, believing that the Demon God Emperor only took his anger out on her because he saw the boy as useless.
The lad’s situation was remarkably similar to Yue Anlan’s, which stirred a sense of kinship in her. However, did the Demon God Emperor really not care about him?
Anlan looked at Abao suspiciously. While he kept his head lowered to wipe away his tears, her eyes shifted, instantly emitting a purple glow. She scanned his entire body with her gaze.
This was Anlan’s own innate skill. Possessing an incredibly powerful soul, she could use its energy to peer into anyone in this realm and see through everything.
"That shouldn't be right. With such a potent Heaven-Defying Demon Dragon Bloodline, and talent that is the strongest I have ever seen, how could the Demon God Emperor ignore him? Even I can see his potential; Fengxiu, as his direct lineage, should be even more aware of it. I see—is he tempering him?"
Realization dawned on her. She reached out and patted his head.
"Alright, it's just a small matter. Is it worth all this? Come on, big sister will take you to get even!"
"Ah?"
"Oh, stop dawdling! Follow me!"
She grabbed Abao and started running forward. He nearly stumbled, and a faint blush crept across his handsome face.
"Anlan, slow down! And you are not my big sister. Based on age, I should be older than you!"
Abao’s face was filled with such earnestness that Anlan was nearly overwhelmed by how cute he was.
If there was one thing Anlan was happy about after transmigrating into this world, it was that there were so many handsome guys. Not only her father, Agares, but even this little Abao was stunningly beautiful. Just looking at him, he was destined to be a peerless heartthrob in the future!
Anlan chuckled inwardly, but she hummed a soothing reply.
"Fine, fine, you're the boss! You're the older brother, so from now on, should I call you Brother Bao?"
As she pulled Abao along, she turned her head to look at him with a beaming, playful smile.
The impact of her peerless beauty hit the boy she was holding instantly, and his face turned bright red.
So... so beautiful!
Was the elder sister of little Yue'er really such a stunning beauty? Even the moonlight seemed to lose its luster in her presence!
In particular, the way she said "Brother Bao" seemed to drift right into his heart, making it tremble uncontrollably and ripple with waves of emotion.
But Anlan was a perennial loner; she didn't understand the first thing about a young boy's blossoming heart. Seeing him silent, she wasn't surprised—though the fact that he looked like he was burning up from head to toe did seem a bit odd.
"Brother Bao?"
"Ah, yes~" That inflection...
Unfortunately, he had met someone completely oblivious to romance.
Seeing that Abao was physically fine, Anlan felt relieved and led him off to find the culprits. Throughout the journey, the two small hands remained clasped, with Abao even subconsciously tightening his grip.
When they finally found them, Anlan didn't waste any time.
"Stop right there!"
Anlan channeled her spiritual energy into the command, imbuing it with a hint of a soul-calling force, causing the group ahead to freeze in place involuntarily.
"Oh, if it isn't the Moon Demon Clan's Princess Yue Anlan? Is there something you wanted, calling us over like that?"
The group, having been suddenly hailed, felt a flicker of confusion as to why they had obeyed the command of a neglected princess from the Moon Demon Clan. However, they weren't panicked. A little brat and a prince even the Demon God Emperor didn't care about—what was there to fear?
One of them rested his chin on his hand and looked her over with a mocking gaze.
"Brother Bao, is it them?"
As Abao saw them, a flash of murderous intent streaked through his eyes, only to vanish instantly when he looked back at her. He stared straight at Anlan, his eyes as deep and alluring as a clear pool.
"Yes!"
"Good, as long as I have the right ones! You stay to the side and wait for me. I'll get some payback for you!"
Anlan started to let go of his hand, but Abao instinctively gripped it tighter. Meeting Anlan’s confused gaze, he bit his lower lip.
"Little Sister Lan, don't go. They are all Tier 4 demons. You're still too young; you can't beat them. I'm fine, really. It was just a small grievance; I can endure it."
These words broke Anlan’s heart. While her initial contact with Abao had been at the behest of her father, Agares, after today, she had officially adopted this little cub as her younger brother to protect. She couldn't bear to see her beautiful little brother wear such a dejected expression.
She didn't even notice the change in how Abao addressed her.
"Don't be afraid. They’re just Tier 4s—they’re nothing in my eyes! Just wait there. I said I’d get you some payback, and I definitely will!"
With that, she immediately released Abao and stepped forward for a one-sided beatdown.
Anlan wasn't just bragging. These were merely Tier 4 demons with less than a thousand points of spiritual energy; she had already surpassed that threshold some time ago. Besides, even if she hadn't, her memories from her past life would be more than enough to crush them!
"You—Yue Anlan, how dare you! I am a genius of the Heaven-Defying Magic Dragon Clan, and my father is a prince of our clan! A person even the Demon God Emperor respects—how dare you treat me like this! You’d better watch out, ow!"
Before he could finish his threats, Anlan landed a heavy punch on him, sending him sprawling to the ground again.
"Watch out for what? Trying to threaten me? Do you think I'm afraid of you? Only losers run to their parents when they're losing a fight. If I were your father, I’d be tempted to finish you off and start over! And don't think you're the only one who can tattle! What do you think would happen to you if I told His Majesty you were disparaging the heir of the Heaven-Defying Magic Dragon Clan? Hm?"
"You—you wouldn't dare! His Majesty doesn't care about him!"
The other party roared, but his voice was filled with irrepressible insecurity.
Anlan couldn't help but laugh. "Idiot!"
She didn't want to keep hitting him, fearing that stupidity might be contagious. However, before letting him go, she grabbed him by the hair and dragged him up, resulting in a rather comical scene.
From a distance, a very beautiful little girl was dragging a burly demon teenager, at least 1.8 meters tall, all the way back to where Abao stood.
Because of the severe beating Anlan had delivered, the dragging left a trail of blood on the ground.
She didn't stop there. Once they reached Abao, she slammed the boy’s head down into the dirt.
"Idiot, apologize for offending Prince Abao earlier! Now!"
"Ah—"
