Chapter 7

"This is..."
Chu Fei touched the near-void space. Darkness stretched infinitely around him; only the faint, bioluminescent glow allowed them to see one another.
He understood instantly what the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger had done.
The Evilgod Black Hole fired from its tail could revert those it absorbed into a juvenile state, yet the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger itself was immune to the special effects of this peculiar dimension thanks to its own Soul Power defenses. Once a target was pulled into this "Evilgod Space," the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger and its opponent would engage in a battle to the death. The fight would only end—and the space would only dissipate—when one side perished.
But there was a catch.
This space could only revert a target to a juvenile state, and Chu Fei was already only eight years old.
In other words, this space was utterly useless against him.
It was a different story for the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger.
Already severely wounded, it had exhausted its remaining strength to trigger the black hole; it had no Soul Power left to resist the effect. Outside, its massive tiger frame had shrunk to about a meter in length.
Watching the shrunken Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger across from him, Chu Fei couldn't help but chuckle. This was a turn of events. Instead of tripping Chu Fei up, the beast had only managed to sabotage itself.
While a juvenile Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger was not to be underestimated, one had to remember that the eight-year-old Chu Fei already possessed a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring, a fifty-thousand-year soul ring, two soul bone abilities, and an external soul bone. With a loadout like that, even a juvenile Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger could only stand aside.
The Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger growled lowly, staring at Chu Fei. This was the best solution it could devise; running was impossible, as Tu Ya’s teleportation was far faster than its sprint. Its own sprints had a trajectory, whereas Tu Ya’s teleportation allowed her to vanish from one point and reappear instantly at another. And that wasn't even considering the two Hundred-Thousand-Year Spirit Beasts accompanying her.
In a direct confrontation, it might have escaped them while at full strength, but now, heavily injured, it had no hope of running. Only by killing this human child and consuming his flesh and Soul Power could it hope to recover enough to escape.
How strong could a human child really be? Even if it had returned to a juvenile state, it was certain it could crush this human like an ant.
The Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger curled its lips in a smug grin, flicked the hook on its tail, and began to close in on Chu Fei.
A moment later, its body suddenly stiffened.
"Hum—"
The lightless dimension was suddenly flooded with red light. A red-and-black interwoven soul ring floated slowly around Chu Fei. At his back, his Eight Spider Lances erupted with surging Soul Power, the arachnid spears striking the ground with a crisp, rhythmic clatter.
*A Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring? And an external soul bone?!*
The Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger stared at Chu Fei, its first soul ring a Hundred-Thousand-Year one, and felt a wave of numbness. It would have preferred to believe its eyes were deceiving it than to admit that thing was a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring. But the reality was right in front of it: this brat had a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring while still in his juvenile years!
If the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger could speak, it would surely have accused Chu Fei of cheating. Unfortunately, it lacked that ability, and could only offer a low, whining whimper.
"What? Thinking of running?" Chu Fei teased, watching the beast retreat.
The Eight Spider Lances surged, closing the distance in an instant. The crimson spears flashed with a sharp, chilling gleam, striking directly at the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger’s head.
"Clang!"
The spider lance slammed into the ground, piercing deep into the floor of the dimension. The Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger felt its spirit break; the grade of this external soul bone was clearly immense. If it were struck, it would likely die on the spot.
Chu Fei was in no hurry. He hadn't had a chance to train with the Eight Spider Lances since acquiring them. He had barely mastered using them to boost his speed, and using them for offense and defense was still clumsy. Having a practice partner here was the perfect opportunity to hone his skills.
The Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger was desperate to flee, but since it had opened this dimension, it knew the rules better than anyone. Running was impossible; it had no choice but to bite the bullet and fight.
*Maybe?* Perhaps it could defeat Chu Fei and leave alive.
Soon, the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger realized how laughable that thought was. Chu Fei, empowered by the Eight Spider Lances, moved at a speed it could not hope to touch. Moreover, every time a lance pierced its body, it didn't just cause physical trauma; it continuously drained its life force. The more wounds it sustained, the faster its vitality ebbed, and with every movement, its body grew increasingly stiff.
Finally, as it slammed a paw against the ground and struggled to hold onto its consciousness to track Chu Fei, Chu Fei knew the toxins from the Eight Spider Lances were taking hold. Beyond their immense piercing power and life-draining capabilities, the lances had inherited the terrifying toxins of the Man-Faced Demon Spider. Once they punctured an target, they released neurotoxins into the bloodstream, which, once activated, paralyzed the victim rapidly.
Chu Fei maintained a precise distance within the dimension, treating it as a training ground for his spider lances. For the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger, the experience was agonizing—no better than being carved up by a dull knife.
Unable to take it anymore, the beast fused its Soul Power with its dark energy. A violet-black lightning erupted from its maw, branching out into a jagged web of thunder. It launched a mindless, indiscriminate attack mixing wind, thunder, and dark attributes.
It didn't even care if it caught itself in the crossfire. The relentless explosions finally forced Chu Fei to stop. Seeing him halt, the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger roared and whipped its tail-hook in a flurry of dense, suffocating attacks, uncaring that it was being scorched by its own lightning, desperate to finish Chu Fei off.
But it was far from easy. Its frantic assault only accelerated its own demise.
Chu Fei deflected the incoming hook with ease, his Eight Spider Lances moving like extensions of his own limbs, blocking every strike. The tail-hook lashed out like a whip, its reinforced scales clashing against the spider lances to create showers of sparks and the deafening ring of metal on metal.
Unable to land a hit, the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger grew more and more agitated—and the more agitated it became, the more openings it left.
The neurotoxins had completely paralyzed the beast. Its raised claw hung in the air, unable to strike, leaving it wide open.
Chu Fei seized the opportunity, lunging forward to grab the tiger by its head. The beast watched helplessly as its body was tossed through the dimension, feeling the agonizing crunch of its bones shattering and sinking into deep despair.
Finally, the Darkdemons Evilgod Tiger collapsed limply onto the ground. Not a single bone in its body remained intact; it looked more like a discarded tiger doll. As the soul ring began to rise from its body, the final roar in its throat faded into a weak, pathetic "meow."
