Chapter 57

317 words2 minutes read

I received an urgent notification from my editor a little past ten o'clock telling me the book is going live. It caught me somewhat off guard, but there's not much to say—starting today, I'm committing to ten thousand words a day. You all read hard, and I'll write hard. Anyway, I have no classes left in the second semester of my senior year; if you guys are fierce enough, I will weld myself to my computer chair all day long. Actually, the editor bringing this up was a bit beyond my expectations. I originally planned to drop a triple chapter today to set off a little firecracker and aggressively draw in active readership, striving to steadily secure a second round of promotions. Friday's stats showed seven hundred active readers, so pushing to nine hundred by Tuesday shouldn't have been too difficult. However, after asking some writer friends and my editor around me, they very clearly told me that Douluo fanfiction mainly relies on smart algorithms, and the new book promotion has the best effect only in the first round, while the subsequent second, third, and fourth rounds yield mediocre results. I figured that being the case, I might as well listen to everyone. After all, they either hold multiple bestselling titles under their belts or are editors who have read hundreds of books, so I'd better listen to those who know the ropes.
