Chapter 5

Zhu Zhuqing instinctively wanted to refuse.
She did not like men touching her body.
Yet since the other party was an academy teacher, she still had to extend her snow-white palm.
Li Yusong merely wanted to check her bone age by touch. After feeling Zhu Zhuqing's hand briefly, he nodded and said, "The bone age is correct; she is indeed under twelve years old."
Following that, his gaze fell upon Long Jian.
"Your turn!"
Long Jian extended his hand.
He had no idea what his age would be considered in this world.
"The bone age is appropriate, twelve years old—just right!"
Even though Long Jian had just struck Dai Mubai, didn't that simply prove that Long Jian was even stronger than Dai Mubai?
In this world, the weak are prey to the strong, and the mighty are supreme!
Dai Mubai had just been beaten.
He could only blame his own inadequate strength for provoking someone he couldn't afford to mess with.
He deserved it!
As for future relationships with classmates, that was not something he needed to consider.
"Name! Spirit! Rank!" Li Yusong said with a smile.
"Long Jian! Spirit: Genisys Lock, rank thirty Great Soul Master!" Long Jian said indifferently, and then summoned his two Spirit Rings—one yellow and one purple.
He could change the color of his Spirit Rings at will.
After all, these Spirit Rings were fake to begin with and served no actual purpose.
Witnessing this scene, everyone present, including Zhu Zhuqing, was frozen in place.
Especially Tang San.
At that moment, looking as if he had swallowed a fly, his expression turned immensely unsightly, and he kept muttering phrases like "impossible."
Li Yusong suppressed the surging excitement within his heart.
He stood on his tiptoes to pat Long Jian on the shoulder, smiling as he said, "Good! Very good! Extremely good!"
"You and classmate Zhu Zhuqing wait here for a moment; Xiao Bai will take you to the later stages shortly."
Afterward, Li Yusong's gaze landed on Tang San, Xiao Wu, and the final young girl.
"Blue Silver Grass Spirit? Rank twenty-nine? Such a trash Spirit can cultivate this fast!?"
"You really are a monster!"
"Go wait off to the side."
"Soft Bone Rabbit, another rank twenty-nine?"
"Good, very good, you go wait off to the side as well."
Looking at the final young girl, Li Yusong no longer possessed his previous excitement.
His brows were tightly furrowed, his eyes filled with gravity.
Before Li Yusong could ask, the girl spoke up directly:
"Ning Rongrong, Spirit: Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda, rank twenty-six Great Soul Master!"
Li Yusong sighed.
"Xiao Bai, take these junior students directly to the final test!"
"They no longer need to go through the trials one by one."
"Understood!" Dai Mubai nodded, then clutched his waist and abdomen as he said with a somewhat pale complexion, "All of you, follow me!"
"Xiao Bai, after you drop off the juniors, go find Oscar and get two sausages to recover. If that doesn't work, find old Zhao and get a couple of sugar beans to mend yourself!" Li Yusong said with concern.
"All right, I understand."
Dai Mubai had been thinking the same thing.
The examiner for the final test was none other than himself.
He needed to spar with these people one-on-one.
Everyone had to last the time it took for a stick of incense to burn under his hands in order to pass.
Yet right now, the kick Long Jian had landed on him left him feeling exceptionally miserable.
He felt as though his waist and abdomen had completely lost sensation.
He absolutely could not continue participating in the fourth test.
With that, he quickened his pace, rapidly leading Long Jian and the others into the interior of Shrek Academy.
Along the way, passing several groups of applicants and seeing that Long Jian and Zhu Zhuqing did not need to continue the trials to pass directly, some individuals raised objections.
Yet upon learning the Spirit Power ranks of Long Jian and the others, they shut their mouths and said nothing more.
Suddenly, a scruffy, white-haired middle-aged man who looked like a middle-aged uncle pushed a small cart over. On the small cart, a dozen steaming roasted sausages were being grilled.
Seeing that middle-aged uncle, Dai Mubai looked as though he had spotted a lifeline.
He lunged forward directly.
He swallowed the sausages from the small cart into his stomach in one go.
This action left the scruffy middle-aged uncle completely dumbfounded.
"I say, Young Master Dai, no matter how hungry you are, you have to pay before you eat, right?"
"Acting like this makes things very difficult for me."
Feeling that his body had recovered considerably and his waist and abdomen no longer hurt as much, Dai Mubai rolled his eyes speechlessly at those words.
"Oscar, would this young master lack your few Gold Soul Coins?"
With that, Dai Mubai pulled out a money pouch and flung it toward Oscar.
Seeing the incoming money pouch, Oscar's expression instantly turned joyous.
"There you go! I knew Young Master Dai was generous—please continue next time."
"That way, my little stall will be open for you at any time."
After offering a flattering compliment to Dai Mubai, Oscar's gaze fell upon the new recruits, including Long Jian and Zhu Zhuqing.
Upon seeing the astonishingly breathtaking faces of the three girls—Zhu Zhuqing, Xiao Wu, and Ning Rongrong—love hearts seemed to flash in Oscar's eyes.
Like a sycophantic flatterer, he stepped closer and flashed a ingratiating smile toward the three girls.
"Hello, the three of you! Would you like some roasted sausage?"
"It's free, no charge!"
"But there are no roasted sausages left on your cart." Long Jian pointed at the small cart and said softly.
"Ah, well..." Oscar wore an awkward expression, then cast a resentful glance at Dai Mubai.
Dai Mubai retorted ungraciously, "Once you've eaten them, can't you just make a few more?"
Hearing this, Oscar smiled awkwardly.
"It's awkward to make them on the spot. Next time! I'll treat you to roasted sausage next time!"
"See you!"
Watching Oscar push his cart away and vanish in a flash of smoke, the corner of Dai Mubai's mouth twitched.
He had just been thinking of having Oscar make two roasted sausages right then and there.
He hadn't expected Oscar to run off so quickly.
Having recovered somewhat, Dai Mubai's complexion looked much better.
"Let's go, I'll take you to the site of the fourth test!"
Before long, the group of five followed Dai Mubai to an open clearing.
In the middle of the clearing stood a recliner, and a rather short, burly middle-aged man was currently lying on it sunbathing.
The recliner squeaked incessantly, as though it couldn't bear his weight.
"Teacher Zhao!"
Dai Mubai approached and woke Zhao Wuji up from the recliner.
Zhao Wuji opened his eyes and spotted Long Jian and the other four standing not far ahead.
He turned his head to glance at Dai Mubai. "Are these this year's new students?"
"That's right!" Dai Mubai nodded.
Zhao Wuji instantly perked up. "There are five of them?"
"Won't that old bastard Flender be grinning from ear to ear?"
"Teacher Zhao..." Seeing Zhao Wuji like this, Dai Mubai leaned in and whispered something into his ear.
As he listened, Zhao Wuji nodded, a smile spreading across his face—though no matter how one looked at it, that smile seemed harboring malicious intentions.
Furthermore, Zhao Wuji's gaze frequently landed on Long Jian.
Zhu Zhuqing, Tang San, and the other three also noticed this scene.
"Long Jian, they seem to be plotting something unfavorable against you. You should be careful!"
A melodious voice rang out.
