With a deafening roar, the charred earth was churned up once again. The surrounding Ghouls lingered, not daring to advance, forming a ring around the outer edge of the battlefield.
At the center of the ring was a sea of blazing fire. Two men were locked in close combat, brandishing their blades. Superheated flames splashed outward from them, defying even the torrential rain that poured down from the sky.
Chu Zihang’s upper garment had already been cast into the fire. After several rounds of engagement, it had been nearly shredded to pieces; rather than letting the dangling rags get in his way, he had simply ripped them off. This left his muscular upper body exposed, though it was now completely bathed in blood.
