Word Spirit: Kamaitachi
Jiang Yi stood in the maple forest shrouded in mist, waiting for the Kamaitachi to bring sounds from all directions – the delicate gasps of girls running, the banter and conversations of boys with their arms around each other.
“That new student is so handsome, I heard they say he’s the Linghu Chong of the new era! I want to hold him and rub his head hard. He must be fun, like a flustered puppy~”
Word Spirit deactivated.
After thinking it over, he still abandoned this Word Spirit. Even if it could be upgraded to Vampire Scythe, it was still useless to him.
He couldn't help but sigh, to think this was the Word Spirit of the Student Union president! To make so many people submit with such a Word Spirit, it truly showed that ability was greater than power.
This was the third Word Spirit Jiang Yi had copied, all auxiliary abilities. He had also tried to copy Chu Zihang’s Lord Flame, but gave up before even using it.
If such a destructive ability were released on campus, he’d likely be surrounded by the janitors with assault rifles the moment he unleashed it.
Jiang Yi never expected to suffer from indecision one day. His past self had no choices; as long as there was food, clothing, shelter, and transportation, that was enough. How could he have Word Spirits to play with and choose from today?
Then he had to be even more cautious. He had suffered for most of his life; what was wrong with enjoying himself now?
Dragon Genealogy Class.
Jiang Yi sat beside Chu Zihang, carefully observing the lecturer standing at the entrance of the tiered walkway, holding a book in one hand. It wasn't the blonde vampire Dio Brando, but a tall, well-built gentleman.
He wore a crisp, custom-tailored suit, Gucci shoes, and his snow-white hair was neatly styled. His arms were solid with muscle, appearing to be the kind of man who could run horses from his biceps.
A gold-rimmed monocle over his left eye added a scholarly air to the old man, who always wore a gentlemanly smile.
Hiltbert Jean Angers.
Jiang Yi felt that if he were to enter the fashion world, Karl Lagerfeld would be stepping down tomorrow. His elegance and gentlemanliness were like vintage wine from a winery, becoming more intoxicating with the passage of time.
Utterly flamboyant, a complete all-ages killer!
【Word Spirit: Time Zero】
Bloodline Origin: King of Sky and Wind
Evaluation: A highly dangerous power that exists within a temporal anomaly, a rare and uncommon super Word Spirit. With tens to hundreds of times the time-slowing effect, this ability is sufficient to reach the level of the unfathomable!
Copy progress: 10%... 50%
Jiang Yi looked on with some longing, unable to help but marvel. The wholeheartedly praising evaluation instantly elevated this Word Spirit’s status by several notches. Truly the Word Spirit of an S-class Dragon Slayer; to kill without a trace was likely like this.
Angers also noticed Jiang Yi observing him and specially turned to smile and nod at him.
"In 227 BCE, Jing Ke was ordered to assassinate the Qin Emperor under the guise of presenting a map. According to analyses by later scholars, Jing Ke was a half-blood with an extremely high bloodline rank. His Word Spirit, just like mine, was Time Zero.
He used an alchemical dagger and, after slowing down time, attacked the Qin Emperor’s brain and heart simultaneously. But in the end, Jing Ke failed.
Because the moment he sensed danger, the Qin Emperor resumed his dragon form, coiled around the pillars to avoid injury, and incinerated Jing Ke to death with Dragon Flame.”
Angers pointed to his bulging chest and his head. “Remember, to kill a Dragon King, you can only attack the brain and the heart.”
Jiang Yi nodded, thinking that the principal was indeed the principal, speaking with the flair of a lecture and presenting an epic scene before everyone.
What the hell… he said the Qin Emperor was a Dragon King?
Was this referring to the Qin Emperor coiling around the pillar? So it wasn't that the Qin Emperor was running around the pillar, but that he transformed into a dragon and coiled around it?
“According to historical research, almost every emperor possessed pure Dragon bloodlines. Excluding the now-vanished Qin Emperor bloodline, the descendants of other emperors gathered together, contributing to the cause of Dragon slaying like us.”
The 40-minute class ended in the blink of an eye, with many still appearing to want more, showing Angers’s great charm.
“Jiang Yi, stay a moment.”
All eyes turned to the back of the tiered classroom. Everyone knew the super freshman who had been causing a stir; it was said that him becoming S-class was already a certainty.
Many students present had bet against him; now they felt heartbroken in their helplessness.
Jiang Yi and Chu Zihang exchanged a look and obediently remained in their seats.
After all the students had left, Angers asked gently, like an elder at home, “Have you been getting used to things here lately?”
“It’s been great. There’s free pig trotters in the cafeteria, and I’ve earned two hundred thousand,” Jiang Yi replied truthfully. “If things continue like this, I’ll be able to buy a house in my hometown by the end of the semester.”
“It seems you’re having a good time,” Angers smiled. “I occasionally dine in the cafeteria myself to ensure the taste is up to par; the chefs cook according to my standards.”
“If you need it, I can find an investor to help you analyze which property would be suitable to buy, or I have several villas under my name. You can pick one and take it.”
Jiang Yi’s expression turned peculiar. “Principal, you’re being too generous. I dare not accept.”
“Why?” Angers asked curiously. “I thought you would be very happy to accept.”
“The director at the orphanage told me that accepting things from others always comes with a price, and the heavier the item, the higher the price.”
Angers stifled a laugh at this. “It seems your director was also a good educator. I do have a small request, but it will be quite easy for you.”
“Tell me, I’ll do my best,” Jiang Yi shrugged helplessly.
“There will be a physical examination this afternoon to confirm your physical data. I hope you can break the record left by the previous S-class,” Angers said gently. “In exchange, I will give you the design for your new house.”
“I didn’t expect the principal to be skilled at this too,” Jiang Yi was a little surprised, but thinking about it, for a person with a hundred-year lifespan, even someone tone-deaf would become a master musician in that much time.
“You certainly can,” Angers affirmed. “As I said, you are one of the most outstanding students I have observed in nearly a century. You have sufficient ability, and you were just needing to hide your special talents to live in society, not like a monster.
As for now, you no longer need to hide. The more powerful you are, the more you will be recognized. Tell people that you possess an exceptionally good bloodline and are a rising star at Cassell deserving of the name!”
Jiang Yi was stunned by Angers’s passionate speech, thinking that the principal shouldn’t waste his talent as a motivational speaker; he was already feeling the drums of war beating within him.
After a long while, Jiang Yi suddenly asked, “Does the principal have a designer's certificate?”
“No…” Angers hesitated for a moment. “No one would issue a designer’s certificate to a one hundred and thirty-year-old man, but I am quite confident in my artistic aesthetic.”
