Chapter 6

Passing by an Audi car, he made a mocking remark: "A third-hand Audi, about time for an upgrade."
"No way, Supervisor Bai drives a third-hand Audi?" the employees asked, extremely surprised.
"I...!" Supervisor Bai was so angry he cursed furiously.
"So what if my third-hand Audi is third-hand? It's still better than your electric bicycle. Just wait, I'm definitely going to get my hands on Jiang Yurou!" he roared inwardly, still completely unaware that the sickle of death was suspended directly above his head.
Chapter 13: Countdown, Two Days Remaining!
On the way, Jiang Yurou asked curiously, "What did you say to Supervisor Bai to scare him like that?"
"Kiss me on the cheek, and I'll tell you," Chen Bufan teased.
"You rascal, you have no idea how to behave in front of the child," Jiang Yurou blushed.
Right at that moment, the electric bicycle suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong?" Jiang Yurou asked hurriedly.
Chen Bufan stared straight ahead. Two middle-aged men stood side by side, blocking their path.
The two exuded a powerful aura, their temples sunken, making them look like two steel sabers planted in the ground.
They were definitely martial arts practitioners!
"Yurou, take Sisi and go back first," Chen Bufan said, then stepped off the vehicle.
"Who are they?" Jiang Yurou asked with a worried tone.
"Don't worry, just take Sisi home first. I'll be back shortly," Chen Bufan said in a tone that allowed no room for refusal.
"But..." Jiang Yurou hesitated, words failing her.
"I promise you, nothing will happen."
"Alright..." Jiang Yurou had no choice but to take Sisi back first.
Chen Bufan made a hand gesture, and the hidden Demon God Hall members immediately followed behind to provide full protection.
One of the middle-aged men made a move to advance, but was stopped by the other.
"Unimportant. Deal with this punk first."
Their gazes instantly locked onto Chen Bufan, revealing icy murderous intent.
"Chen Bufan, the two of us are here to send you to the netherworld!"
"Did Han Lie send you?" Chen Bufan asked.
"A dying man has no need to know so much. Go to hell!" The two roared and simultaneously charged at Chen Bufan.
"Boom!" One of them thrust out a palm with ferocious lethality, creating a loud "bang" in the empty air as a shockwave exploded outward with immense force!
The other swept his leg horizontally like a swinging club, producing a piercing whistle.
Neither of them was ordinary; they were genuine martial arts practitioners.
"To kill me, he certainly spared no expense. But your strength is far too weak!" Chen Bufan shouted explosively. Instead of retreating even half a step, he suddenly threw his hand forward in a powerful collision with the oncoming palm.
Boom!
An overbearing force violently rippled outward like a blender, instantly tearing apart the opponent's meridians. Accompanied by a series of snapping sounds, the bones in all five of the man's fingers shattered completely.
The striking middle-aged man instantly let out a miserable screech like a slaughtered pig, his facial features distorting. His entire arm twisted into a grotesque shape resembling a braided dough twist—it was completely crippled!
Boom!
Chen Bufan struck again, grabbing the sweeping leg of the other man and instantly exerting force with his fingers.
"Crack!" The hard leg bone instantly emitted a sharp sound before snapping in half.
Chen Bufan raised his other hand and brought it down through the air like a curved saber.
Bang!
With a muffled thud, the entire leg broke completely, and blood sprayed wildly.
With just a single move, both men had an arm and a leg crippled. Compared to Chen Bufan's strength, they were vastly inferior!
"From what I know, Han Lie isn't powerful enough to recruit people of your caliber as subordinates. I'll give you a chance to confess who you are," Chen Bufan said coldly.
"What qualifications do you have to interrogate us!" the middle-aged man said hatefully.
"You want to talk to me about qualifications?" Chen Bufan chuckled abruptly, then lashed out like lightning, his speed reaching the absolute extreme.
By the time he pulled back his hand, both middle-aged men collapsed straight to the ground, their necks completely snapped.
"Who... exactly are you?"
"You aren't qualified to know!" As Chen Bufan dropped those words, the middle-aged man failed to catch his breath and instantly dropped dead—proving to be the clown all along.
"Canglong, deliver these two to Han Lie, and tell them there are only two days left, so they'd better think carefully. Also, investigate the identities of these two!" Chen Bufan instructed.
"Understood!" Canglong acknowledged from the shadows, and then fell silent again.
...
When Chen Bufan returned home, he found Jiang Yurou packing her things in a hurried manner.
"Bufan, you're back!" Jiang Yurou cried out, the heavy stone in her heart finally dropping; otherwise, she would have turned back to look for him.
"I told you everything was fine," Chen Bufan smiled.
"Yurou, what are you doing?"
"Packing my things, hurry up and pack yours too!" Jiang Yurou urged anxiously.
"What are we packing for?" Chen Bufan asked.
"I only found out when I got to work today that Han Youwei's entire family was wiped out. After they left the Jiang Family yesterday, that father and son died too. Now the whole city is in an uproar..."
"They got what they deserved. What does that have to do with us?" Chen Bufan said indifferently, temporarily planning to withhold the truth from Yurou to avoid frightening her.
"Even if it has nothing to do with us, at a critical time like this, the Han Family's second-in-command will be furious and will definitely take it out on us. Tell me honestly, were those two men who blocked the road just now sent by the Han Family?" Jiang Yurou fixed her gaze on Chen Bufan.
It seemed Yurou wasn't quite as naive as she looked! The corners of Chen Bufan's mouth curled into a smile.
"Chen Bufan, did you hear what I said? What time is it, and you're still smiling!" Jiang Yurou was provoked into a state of irritation, widening her eyes in a display of unique cuteness.
"Don't worry, it's nothing. If they were here to cause trouble, would I have been able to come back?"
"Don't try to fob me off. Tell me quickly, were they Han Family people?" Jiang Yurou demanded, looking puffed up with anger.
Helpless, Chen Bufan had no choice but to admit, "They were Han Family people. They just wanted to ask me about something, and then they left."
"It looks like they really have their eyes on us. We have to leave Liyang immediately, it's too unsafe here!" Jiang Yurou said quickly.
"Aren't we doing fine? Don't overthink it." Chen Bufan comforted her.
"Bufan, you don't understand the Han Family. Han Youwei has a younger brother named Han Lie, who is the underground emperor of Liyang and commands massive influence. With his older brother's entire family dead, he certainly won't let this go—especially since we've already caused the Han Family to lose face. If they don't reclaim that dignity, how can they maintain a foothold in Liyang?"
Jiang Yurou's analysis was quite logical. Unfortunately, she had no idea that her man was an existence countless times more formidable than the Han Family, requiring no worry on this front whatsoever.
"Yurou, you can always choose to trust me. I promise nothing will go wrong," Chen Bufan said.
"I'm just worried about Sisi..."
"I have everything handled. I will protect you both well. Remember what I said." Chen Bufan picked up Sisi and kissed Jiang Yurou on the forehead.
"Alright, I'll listen to you. But you have to promise me that no matter what you do in the future, you won't be so impulsive," Jiang Yurou said.
"Deal!" Chen Bufan nodded.
...
In a private estate on the outskirts of Liyang, Han Lie was sharing tea with a man in his fifties.
The man wore a black Zhongshan suit and bore a scar at the corner of his eye, making him look rather terrifying.
"Master Ao, I really have to thank you this time. I'll substitute tea for wine and toast to you!" Han Lie raised his teacup and drained it in one gulp, holding profound respect for the man before him.
People often called him the underground emperor, but little did they know that the true overlord of Liyang was this very Master Ao—Xing Ao! Head of Kirin Hall, master of the Kirin Legion, commander of five hundred Blade members, covering the sky with a single hand and peerless beneath heaven!
In front of Xing Ao, he was nothing more than a small fry.
"No need to be so polite. As a member of Kirin Hall, it's only right that I help when you encounter trouble. But I'm genuinely curious: how did a mere young punk turn your Han Family upside down?" Xing Ao asked with mild curiosity.
"That brat is just trash with no actual skills to speak of. He must have some expert backing him up, or perhaps he just stumbled into some incredible luck. But I've checked, and no major figures have come to our Liyang," Han Lie said with frustration.
An expert? Xing Ao sneered twice. "No matter what expert it is, in front of my Kirin Hall, they're nothing more than a pile of dog shit. The two men I dispatched are elites within Kirin Hall; they should have settled him by now. Just wait for the good news."
"Thanks again, Master Ao!" Han Lie said excitedly.
"It would be best not to kill him outright. Bring him back alive; I want to humiliate this piece of trash bit by bit," Han Feiyun said viciously from behind Han Lie.
Just at that moment, Han Lie's phone suddenly rang.
"The good news is here!"
He excitedly pressed the answer button.
"Second Master, the two elite experts dispatched by Kirin Hall have been killed! Their corpses were just delivered to our doorstep, along with a note containing a single sentence: the time left for the Han Family is only the final two days!"
Chapter 14: Kirin Hall!
Boom!
Upon hearing this news, the cell phone dropped onto the floor with a loud clatter.
Simultaneously, with a sharp "crack," the teacup in Xing Ao's hand instantly shattered into pieces!
The two elite experts sent out had both been killed!
"How is this possible!" Xing Ao found it unbelievable.
"Han Lie, I want you to verify this immediately!"
Han Lie was no less shocked. He hurriedly contacted his subordinate and opened a video call, where he was horrified to see two corpses lying right at the entrance of the Han Family residence—they were precisely the two experts from Kirin Hall!
His subordinate even displayed the note alongside them. The handwriting was fierce and unyielding, exuding an unmatched murderous aura!
"They're really dead!" Han Lie gasped, his hands and feet trembling.
What to do, what to do, there were only two days left!!!
Considered by outsiders to be the underground emperor, he was now frightened to this extent—a truly rare sight indeed.
"Dammit, this punk actually dared to kill my Kirin Hall experts. It looks like I'll have to go meet him myself!" Xing Ao roared, his gaze turning exceptionally gloomy.
"To deal with trash like Chen Bufan, there's no need to trouble Master Ao to go out personally," Han Feiyun suddenly chimed in.
Oh? Xing Ao turned his head to fixate on Han Feiyun.
"Feiyun, what idea do you have?" Han Lie asked.
"Since Chen Bufan cares so much about his wife and daughter, we can target them instead, forcing him to come to the Han Family on his own and kowtow in apology. Wouldn't that be much more interesting than simply killing him?" Han Feiyun said maliciously, a sinister smile creeping onto her painted red lips.
"This plan is not bad!" Xing Ao nodded.
"Chen Bufan is always with his family, so it might not be easy to make a move," Han Lie worried.
"We can do this..." After Han Feiyun finished laying out her plan, intense venom flashed in her eyes.
"Chen Bufan, four years ago you were nothing more than a dog in front of me, and today, four years later, I'll still turn you into a dog, crawling obediently before me!"
...
During dinner that night, Jiang Yurou was still in low spirits.
"Still worried?" Chen Bufan asked.
Jiang Yurou shook her head.
"Anything troubling you? You can talk to me about it," Chen Bufan offered with concern.
"Work stuff. Even if I told you, you wouldn't be able to help," Jiang Yurou sighed heavily.
"How do you know I can't help if you don't tell me?" A smile graced Chen Bufan's face. As long as he wished it, what was to stop him from simply buying out Yunlu Company?
"The real estate market is bad this year. Our company's newly launched Yunlu Academy has been on the market for a whole month, and out of a thousand standard units, only eighty have been sold. Of the fifty luxury villas, only two or three have gone. The crucial part is that not a single one was sold by me. There are only a few days left this month; if I still can't make any sales and fail my performance review, I might end up losing my job."
Jiang Yurou was extremely anxious. There were countless places requiring money right now, and with Bufan out of work, they had an extra mouth to feed. If she lost her job, the family's economic pressure would be immense.
Chen Bufan had been wondering what the big deal was—turns out it was just this.
"If you lose your job, you lose your job. I'll support you."
"You don't even have a job yourself. Are you going to support us with just your mouth?" Jiang Yurou smiled bitterly, though her heart warmed up inside.
"Well then, what should we do? I'll help you solve it. It's a trivial matter anyway," Chen Bufan smiled.
"Oh right, you reminded me. Even if I can't close any sales, just dragging a few visitors along will do. Bufan, I've decided—tomorrow you'll come to our housing development and pretend to be a homebuyer. It pays two hundred yuan a day and includes a meal. That way I can pass my performance review!" Jiang Yurou said cheerfully.
"..." Chen Bufan was speechless. Two hundred yuan a day, and I'm being sold off just like that? He couldn't help but reveal a faint smile.
"Never mind, it's probably better if you don't come," Jiang Yurou suddenly deflated.
"Afraid I'll be harassed by that guy surnamed Bai?" Chen Bufan saw right through Jiang Yurou's thoughts.
Jiang Yurou nodded silently.
"Rest assured, he wouldn't dare!" Chen Bufan said with absolute confidence. "It's settled then."
...
Late at night, after Yurou and Sisi had fallen fast asleep, Chen Bufan appeared outside.
Under the dim yellow streetlamp, a figure suddenly materialized—it was none other than Canglong.
"Hall Master, the identities of those two men have been verified."
"Speak!"
"They hail from Kirin Hall, the most powerful local faction, possessing an independent legion known as the five hundred Blade members. Wherever their blades point, they are invincible!"
"Hall Master Xing Ao is also a legendary figure. Having fought in the underground world for over a decade, he seized the position of Kirin Hall Master in one fell swoop. Han Lie is one of Kirin Hall's vice hall masters."
Canglong reported in detail.
"Kirin Hall, Blade, invincible? What nerve!" Chen Bufan sneered softly.
"How does Kirin Hall have martial artists under its command? Is there another faction behind them?" Chen Bufan asked.
"Reporting to Hall Master, that is still under investigation."
"Investigate and let me know," Chen Bufan commanded.
"Understood." Canglong acknowledged, then melted back into the darkness and vanished.
"The final two days. I hope it draws out a few more big fish. No matter who they are or what faction they belong to, anyone who dares to provoke me will meet only one end: death!"
Amidst the night, Chen Bufan's figure stood as straight as a sword, radiating an unmatched sharpness.
...
The next day, right after Jiang Yurou went to work, Chen Bufan followed closely behind with Sisi, stepping into the sales office.
If anyone knew that the global-suppressing, peerless Demon God was impersonating a homebuyer for two hundred yuan a day plus a free meal, their jaws would likely drop to the floor.
That would simply be too earth-shattering!
The moment Chen Bufan stepped into the lobby, he was recognized by several people.
"Isn't that Jiang Yurou's husband? What is he doing here?"
Jiang Yurou personally received Chen Bufan, taking him around and introducing the properties with utmost professionalism.
Yet amidst the colleagues' discussions, she felt like a thief, knowing full well that Chen Bufan wasn't actually going to buy a house—he was just there to fill the quota of a prospective visitor.
Supervisor Bai, walking past the lobby, caught sight of Chen Bufan and instantly became as pumped as if he'd been injected with adrenaline.
"What is this guy doing here? Who let him in?"
His loud shout immediately drew everyone's attention.
"I brought him here to look at houses. Is there a problem?" Jiang Yurou asked, stepping defensively in front of Chen Bufan.
"Someone who rides an electric bicycle comes to look at houses that cost twenty thousand per square meter?" Supervisor Bai asked loudly.
"Haha!!" Laughter instantly erupted all around.
Who didn't know that Chen Bufan was Jiang Yurou's husband and a total pauper? If he had money, he wouldn't have let his wife and child live in a shabby rented house.
"No matter who someone is, as long as they come to view properties, they are prospective clients. Supervisor Bai, don't go too far," Jiang Yurou said coldly.
"A prospective client refers to someone capable of closing a deal, a client with the financial capacity to buy. May I ask if the man beside you meets this requirement? You shouldn't be bringing him here; you should take a left turn to the diner next door—they're looking for a dishwasher, and he fits their recruitment criteria quite well."
As soon as those words left his mouth, another wave of wild laughter echoed through the lobby.
The brightly dressed clients and real estate consultants were all standing by to watch Chen Bufan make a fool of himself.
"Jiang Yurou, don't think I don't know that you haven't closed a single deal this month. Dragging a family member in to pretend to buy a house has a terrible impact on the company. I officially announce that your performance review for this month is a failure. Don't bother coming to work tomorrow!"
Chapter 15: Buying a Villa!
Fire me?
Coming like a bolt from the blue, Jiang Yurou froze on the spot.
The company had always permitted such behavior and even encouraged employees to bring in potential viewers to create a bustling market illusion. Why was it suddenly unacceptable just because she did it?
"I don't accept this!" Jiang Yurou fought to suppress her rising anger.
"If you don't accept it, go file a complaint against me! Anyway, you've been fired by me. Pack up your precious family and get lost immediately!" Supervisor Bai said with an arrogant attitude.
"Fine, I quit! Pay me my wages right now and I'll leave immediately," Jiang Yurou said, driven to the edge. With a supervisor like this, staying was pointless anyway.
"Causing a negative impact on the company—I should be making you pay damages instead of demanding wages! Security, throw them out!" Supervisor Bai shouted directly.
Several security guards quickly approached, reaching out to shove them.
"Hold on!" Chen Bufan suddenly spoke up.
"What other crap do you have to say?" Supervisor Bai sneered, his nose pointed at the sky.
Chen Bufan stared fixedly at Supervisor Bai as murderous intent gradually welled up within him.
"What are you trying to do? This is a company! If you dare cause trouble here, I'll have you arrested immediately!" Supervisor Bai said, a hint of fear creeping in.
"Bufan, don't be impulsive," Jiang Yurou grabbed his arm, looking up into his eyes. "You promised me last night."
Hoo... Chen Bufan took a deep breath, finally forcing down the murderous impulse in his heart.
Otherwise, Supervisor Bai's life would already be over, and the entire sales office would have been reduced to ruins!
"I want to buy a house," Chen Bufan said.
"What? He wants to buy a house?"
Everyone froze, assuming Chen Bufan wanted to start a fight, only for him to blurt out such a statement.
Followed immediately by frantic mockery!
"Has he gone crazy for the sake of saving face? He should've just left quietly, but instead he insists on buying a house—planning to pay with his face?"
"Exactly. Zero self-awareness, still making a fool of himself here. How did Jiang Yurou end up with a husband like this, embarrassing her along with him?"
...
"Haha, you fucking want to buy a house?" Supervisor Bai laughed hysterically.
"Twenty thousand per square meter—come on, Boss Chen, tell me which unit you want?"
Chen Bufan glanced at the architectural model, calmly shaking his head.
"Ha!" The crowd completely lost it.
He claimed he wanted to buy a house, a model was introduced to him, and then he shook his head—slapping himself right in the face.
"I knew you couldn't afford it, you penniless loser. Security, throw them out right now!" Supervisor Bai shouted.
"I want to buy a villa, not a regular high-rise apartment." After saying this, Chen Bufan led Jiang Yurou directly over to the villa model.
"Yurou, which unit do you like?"
"Bufan, stop messing around and let's go," Jiang Yurou's face flushed red.
"I'm not messing around. Pick one," Chen Bufan said earnestly.
"Everyone come take a look at how this guy buys a villa!" Supervisor Bai hollered.
