Chapter 11

Although Xu Lang said only two words before hanging up, it gave Li Sisi a great sense of reassurance.
He Wenyao remained calm and composed, because he loved nothing more than conquering unruly women.
No matter who Li Sisi had just called, it wouldn't change the outcome, because the name He Wenyao was an ironclad sign in Hangzhou. Who in the underworld or the police force would dare refuse to give him face?
Besides, in He Wenyao's eyes, Li Sisi was merely a commoner; what kind of background could she possibly have?
Yet soon enough, he realized he was wrong, and disastrously so!
Less than ten minutes later, the private room door was pushed open. When Li Sisi saw the face of the newcomer, the panic in her heart vanished completely.
"I..."
"Who hit you?"
Before Li Sisi could finish, Xu Lang cut her off. He reached out to stroke her cheek, a flash of imperceptible murderous intent gleaming in his eyes.
The temperature in the private room dropped abruptly. He Wenyao suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, though for a fraction of a second he thought it was just his imagination. This was his turf, and the other guy was all alone!
And seeing Xu Lang caress Li Sisi's cheek while she didn't refuse, He Wenyao's expression instantly darkened, because in his subconscious, Li Sisi was already his woman!
"I hit her!" Wang Yong stepped forward to take the blame, a disdainful sneer curling the corner of his mouth.
Xu Lang glanced sideways at him, looking at him as if he were already a dead man: "Good!"
Worried that Xu Lang would act on impulse, Li Sisi tightly grabbed his arm: "You lent me one hundred thousand, and I will definitely pay you back as soon as possible."
Xu Lang nodded gently: "We'll talk about the money later. Go outside and wait for me."
"Our Brother Yao didn't say she could leave—ah!"
Wang Yong tried to step forward to stop her. In a flash, Xu Lang grabbed his arm and then violently kicked him right in the knee. With a thud, Wang Yong dropped to his knees.
He Wenyao once again felt a chill run down his spine as a voice in his head told him that the young man before him was extremely dangerous!
Without waiting for Li Sisi's consent, Xu Lang opened the door of the private room and pushed her out, then took off his jacket to cover the glass panel in the middle of the door.
He Wenyao narrowed his eyes slightly.
Xu Lang walked up to the wailing Wang Yong and looked down at him: "Which hand hit her just now?"
Terrified to the core, Wang Yong immediately shot a plea for help at He Wenyao. However, before the latter could even tell his men to move—
"Crack!"
Xu Lang raised his foot and directly snapped Wang Yong's right arm.
"Ah—" Wang Yong writhed in pain. But it wasn't over yet; Xu Lang raised his foot again and stomped down, breaking his right leg as well.
He Wenyao's face turned ashen. No one had ever dared to act so presumptuously in front of him. With a wave of his hand, he barked: "Take him down!"
Whoosh, whoosh—
Five or six burly men inside the private room rushed toward Xu Lang all at once.
"Bang, bang, bang—"
Waiting outside the private room, Li Sisi was overcome with anxiety. She heard a flurry of crisp punches and kicks from inside, immediately followed by several different cries of agony. But she could clearly tell that none of those voices belonged to Xu Lang.
"Don't do anything rash! I am He Wenyao, and my dad is the boss of the Xingdong Guild!"
"Clatter!"
"Ah—blood, I'm bleeding..."
First came the sound of breaking wine bottles, followed by He Wenyao's terrified screams.
Li Sisi couldn't see what was happening inside the private room, but judging by the sounds, it seemed Xu Lang was in there wreaking havoc, while He Wenyao and his crew were being beaten to tears.
And as it turned out, that was precisely the case.
Right now, He Wenyao no longer had a shred of his former swagger. He was huddled on the sofa, clutching his bleeding, cracked head.
Xu Lang sat on the table with one leg resting on the sofa: "Stop howling and sit up straight!"
He Wenyao straightened his posture almost instinctively, too terrified to make a sound.
"I'm a very reasonable person!" Xu Lang said unhurriedly. "How much does Li Jianwen owe you? One hundred thousand, right? I can pay that debt for him!"
"N—no need to pay it back."
He Wenyao reminded himself that a wise man submits to circumstances and decided to just get through tonight first.
Xu Lang put on a stern face: "If you don't like me being reasonable, I also happen to know a thing or two about martial arts. Which one do you prefer?"
"Reasonable, brother, let's be reasonable." He Wenyao squeezed out a smile that looked worse than crying.
Xu Lang nodded with satisfaction: "We've settled Li Jianwen's account, so how should we settle the score for you intimidating and beating my woman?"
Outside the private room, hearing Xu Lang call her his woman, Li Sisi felt a blush quietly rise to her cheeks, her heart pounding like a frightened fawn.
This guy still claims he isn't trying to chase me!
Hmph, a man's words are nothing but lies!
"Brother, how about I pay you compensation?" He Wenyao was very obedient and knew how to read the room.
Looking at him with an expression of "this pupil can be taught," Xu Lang slowly raised a single finger: "Compensating this amount should be fine, right?"
"One hundred thousand?" He Wenyao asked cautiously.
Xu Lang suddenly raised his voice: "Do you think playing games with me is funny?"
He Wenyao shook his head frantically: "No, no, no, one million! I'll pay one million!"
"Slap!"
Xu Lang struck him directly across the face. "You think my woman is worth so little? Are you trying to brush me off with one million like a beggar?"
He Wenyao's mouth twitched violently.
Wang Yong had slapped Li Sisi once, and ten thousand would have been plenty to settle it legally! Yet now he was willing to pay one million just to send away this god of murder, and the guy still wasn't satisfied.
"Brother, don't tell me you want ten million?" He Wenyao asked in disbelief.
"That's right! But if you want to pay one hundred million, I don't have any objections either." Xu Lang looked entirely serious.
What the hell?!
He Wenyao wanted to curse aloud, but he didn't dare.
"Transfer or cash?" Xu Lang asked impatiently.
He Wenyao drew a sharp breath, gritted his teeth, and said, "Transfer!"
Two minutes later, Xu Lang received the money and stood up with satisfaction. He then pulled a ten-yuan bill from his pocket and tossed it in front of He Wenyao: "I am a very reasonable person. I beat you guys up just now as well, so take this money to buy some bruise medicine later... Is this too little?"
You beast, absolute beast!
He Wenyao was furious, but dared not speak out.
Wang Yong slapped Li Sisi once, and Xu Lang demanded ten million from him. But Xu Lang not only cracked his head open and beat up six or seven of his men, he only compensated him ten yuan!
The crucial part was that this jerk still claimed he was being reasonable... If he weren't completely outmatched in a fight, He Wenyao really wanted to ask him what kind of logic this hellish world was running on!
Nothing is more cruel than breaking someone's spirit after breaking their body.
"Think it's too little?" Xu Lang put on a stern face again.
"No, no, it's enough!" He Wenyao forced a smile.
Xu Lang picked up his jacket and put it on. Before leaving, he didn't forget to leave a warning: "If you want revenge, I certainly won't have any objections, but I'm a very expensive person to deal with—ten million definitely won't be enough for compensation!"
"Bang!"
As the door of the private room closed, He Wenyao slammed his fist onto the table in fury. With a "clatter," the excessive force shattered the glass, cutting another gash across his hand.
"Ah, I'm bleeding! Quick, send me to the hospital..."
