Emperor Qing wishes to reward Fan Xian for slaying Cheng Jushu and capturing Silingling alive, bestowing upon him the title of Collaborative Gentleman of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices. He then tests Fan Xian to see how much of the inner workings he actually knows.
