Feng Wenjun got out of the car and arrived at the meeting place agreed upon with the Bai Family, the Jinzhou Grand Hotel, a five-star establishment located in a bustling district and a landmark building in Jinzhou. The people coming and going here were wealthy and powerful dignitaries, and the hotel parking lot was filled with uncommon luxury cars. Feng Wenjun looked around, noticed nothing unusual, and walked unhurriedly into the lobby.
Pushing open the door to the private dining room, Feng Wenjun found Baimu and Bai Shaojie already seated and waiting. Standing behind them were five tall, sturdy men dressed in military uniforms, who at a glance were clearly Baimu's subordinates. Their cultivation was at the Qi Condensation 7th Layer; although they had concealed their auras, Feng Wenjun could still sense them at his current level. When Bai Shaojie saw Feng Wenjun, the anger in his heart surged onto his face. "You finally made it, making us wait so long!" With his eldest brother Baimu backing him up and boosting his confidence, he naturally had far fewer reservations.
"You didn't invite me here just for a meal, did you? But I'm not hungry anyway; get straight to the point and stop dawdling." Ignoring Bai Shaojie entirely, Feng Wenjun spoke coldly straight to Baimu.
Being completely ignored in this manner caused Bai Shaojie's anger to flare up even more, and he wanted to charge forward. Baimu pressed a hand down on his shoulder, smiled slightly at Feng Wenjun, and said, "I've long heard that Young Master Feng acts decisively and with an iron fist. Seeing you today, the rumors are well-founded! Since Young Master Feng is a straightforward person, I won't beat around the bush either. The fact that you crippled my brother is set in stone. My Bai Family simply wants an explanation. I wonder if Young Master Feng has any objections."
"I did indeed do it, and I don't feel I did anything wrong. Furthermore, I merely crippled him instead of taking his life—that was already showing your Bai Family plenty of respect," Feng Wenjun replied calmly.
Hearing this, the fire in Bai Shaojie's chest erupted. Rushing straight up to Feng Wenjun, he drew a dagger hidden in his clothes and stabbed at him, screaming, "I'm going to kill you!"
Before you could blink, Feng Wenjun sidestepped, grabbed Bai Shaojie's knife-wielding hand, and exerted force. With a loud *crack*, the dagger dropped to the ground as Bai Shaojie's wrist was snapped. In the next instant, a swift kick sent him flying backward to crash against the wall, vomiting blood before he died on the spot.
Seeing his younger brother lying motionlessly on the floor, Baimu's eyes blazed with fury as he roared, "You actually killed my brother right in front of me! Do you think our Bai Family is easy to bully?!"
With a wave of his hand, the five subordinates charged forward together, wielding long sabers covered in spiritual qi as they slashed left and right. Unleashing the Draconic Steps, Feng Wenjun darted back and forth across the walls within the cramped room, moving so fast that afterimages trailed behind him. All five attacks struck only his afterimages. In a flash, Feng Wenjun materialized behind one of the men and pointed a finger. A bolt of spiritual qi transformed into an ice spike that pierced directly through the man's body, instantly turning him into a bloody mist that filled the air.
Just like that, their coordinated assault was broken. The remaining four men drew their weapons and charged at Feng Wenjun together. Seizing the momentum, Feng Wenjun formed hand seals for the Heaven-Overturning Palm, and a massive palm emerged from a pattern of glowing runes. Pushing forward with all his might, Feng Wenjun sent the palm hurtling toward them. The moment the four men's weapons touched the palm, they shattered into pieces. The single palm then split into four, rapidly closing in on the four men.
They hurriedly channeled their full spiritual qi to form defensive barriers, but in the face of this powerful martial art, it was like trying to stop a chariot with a mantis's arms—utterly futile!
The four barriers shattered, and their bodies turned to fine powder the instant they touched the palm.
"Is that it? Too weak. Not satisfying at all," Feng Wenjun said, glancing contemptuously at Baimu.
"Ignorant of life and death! Watch how I make you die!" Baimu's face twisted with vengeful fury. Before the words had even faded, he brought his hands together to form the hand seals for the Fiery Hell. Instantly, the temperature in the entire room soared like volcanic magma. A massive rune array pattern appeared behind Baimu, and over a dozen large fireballs erupted from it. Baimu's current cultivation was only at the Foundation Establishment 3rd Layer; had his cultivation been higher, even more and larger fireballs would have appeared.
At this moment, Feng Wenjun felt a slight trace of pressure. After all, this was the strength of the Foundation Establishment 3rd Layer, and it could not be underestimated.
Staring intently at Feng Wenjun with burning eyes, Baimu shouted, "Ant, go die..." With a wave of his hand, the dozen or more large fireballs swarmed toward Feng Wenjun all at once.
Coating his body in spiritual qi and utilizing his nimble and elusive footwork, Feng Wenjun dodged them one by one. Seeing that his movement technique was too bizarre and failed to land a hit, Baimu formed new hand seals for the Blazing Sun Slash. A giant sword suspended itself in mid-air, its crushing pressure smashing the surrounding walls to pieces and reducing the vicinity to flat ruins. Fortunately, they were in a second-floor private room; had they been on the top floor, the entire building likely would have been ruined. Even so, the hotel did not escape unscathed in this battle, and the once-fine five-star hotel was now reduced to ruins.
Luckily, when Feng Wenjun had come up earlier, he had told the hotel management to evacuate, or else this really would have been a grave sin!
Baimu pointed a finger downward, and the massive sword instantly slashed toward A-Jun. Where the blade passed, a shrill tearing sound echoed, capable of ripping the very wind apart. Feng Wenjun was briefly suppressed by the giant sword's pressure, but at that moment his blood boiled, his spiritual qi surged explosively, and his hands rapidly formed seals to channel the Chaos Innate Formula: Mountain Prison.
A rune-condensed mountain materialized from his palms as he pushed forward with all his might. The collision between the mountain and the giant sword created a shockwave that leveled yet another section of the structure.
"I didn't expect you to have some skill after all," Baimu said, putting on a calm facade.
"Is this all the ability you have, and you still want to kill me?" Feng Wenjun retorted with disdain.
"You're courting death..." Transforming his spiritual qi into swords, Baimu flew toward Feng Wenjun. Dozens of sword qi bolts sped through the air, every single one aimed straight at Feng Wenjun's vital points. Unflustered, Feng Wenjun easily dodged them, flashed into existence right before Baimu's eyes, and unleashed the Heaven-Overturning Palm. Baimu hurriedly tried to block with sword qi, but the palm strike shattered the sword qi and landed squarely on Baimu's chest. Baimu flew backward several meters, crashing heavily onto the ground. Slowly pulling himself up, a trail of blood spilled from his lips.
Thus the two of them traded blows, offense and defense alternating. Even though Feng Wenjun's cultivation realm was lower than Baimu's, he went back and forth with him for dozens of rounds without falling behind, while Baimu was beginning to struggle due to excessive spiritual qi consumption.
