After the butler escorted the three of them out, the servants methodically carried out his orders. The butler then walked over to Layla and said with a sincere attitude, "Thank you once again, Lady Layla."
"Don't mention it. I'll be heading off then," Layla told the butler. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the three assassins being dragged toward the back of the mansion, though he had no idea where they were actually being taken.
"Lady Layla, it is getting late, so I must ask you to rest for a bit longer. Besides, who is to say there were only those three? I kindly ask that you reconsider," the butler said, his eyes flickering with a hint of worry. Though he spoke of concern, Layla couldn't detect any genuine expression on his face.
