Layla returned home, but found no sign of Mavis or August. Not thinking much of it, he figured the two must have gone out. It seemed that ever since August's return, they had been practically inseparable, and they always looked like they were discussing something. Layla walked back to his room, gathered some dirty clothes from earlier, and took them to the bathroom to wash together. While doing the laundry, he thought he heard some activity in the house. Coming out, he saw August and Mavis, and Mavis was carrying a bag of takeout. Mavis explained that she had brought back dinner for Layla; they had already eaten outside and just picked up a portion for him along the way. Layla couldn't help muttering to himself: *Seriously, when an old man and a young girl go out together, do people really not think they're grandfather and granddaughter? Is it really not awkward for the two of you at all?* But this was something Layla only dared to think in his heart.
