Her eyelashes fluttered slightly as she slowly opened her eyes, yet the torment in her heart had not lessened by even a fraction. She refused to open her eyes to face that room; they had told her that device would enhance her magical power, but she was terrified—she was afraid of the pain.
Yet today seemed somehow different. The whispering of those people was gone, and the surroundings were quiet enough to bring a sense of peace.
