Time flows like water and the days slipped by one by one. In the blink of an eye, a whole year passed. Under the meticulous care of Porlyusica, Alan gradually grew. Though his body was still tiny, his eyes revealed a maturity and wisdom far beyond his years.
One day, Alan accidentally overheard a conversation between Makarov and Porlyusica. It turned out that Makarov's grandson had just been born and named Laxus. This news made Alan realize that the current year was X761, and that he was actually a year older than Laxus.
Alan could not help but ponder to himself: "Now that I clearly know the current year and the existence of Laxus, can I use my familiarity with the plot from my past life to prevent some of the tragedies that will happen in the future?"
As time flowed on, before he knew it, Alan reached the age of three. It was worth noting that around the age of two and a half, Alan had already become acutely sensitive to the magical fluctuations lingering in the surrounding air. These magical powers made him sense that something was hidden deep within his soul.
Yet whenever he tried to explore what this thing was, he was always unable to delve deeply into it because his own magical power was not yet strong enough to support such an endeavor. However, Alan did not become discouraged and give up. Instead, from that moment on, he intentionally or unintentionally began to train and improve his ability to control magical power through various methods.
Hard work pays off. After a full year of unremitting training, Alan, now three and a half years old, finally broke through the obstacles he had previously faced. When he concentrated on feeling the hidden thing deep within his soul, the sight before him left him utterly shocked—a brilliantly glowing Gallantmon X was floating right there!
Seeing this Gallantmon X, Alan understood in an instant. This was precisely the figurine he had been holding back then; he simply never expected that the figurine would travel through time and space with him. Alan now knew what magic he would primarily cultivate in the future. With the existence of Gallantmon X, no other magic could compare to the enhancement that Take-Over Magic would grant him.
However, because his body was still developing and he possessed very little magical power, it was still far too early for him to attempt a Take-Over of Gallantmon X.
Just then, Porlyusica's voice came from the doorway: "Alan, Grandma is back."
Alan waddled over to welcome Porlyusica. Seeing Alan walking unsteadily toward her, Porlyusica hurriedly put down the herbs in her hand, stepped forward to pick Alan up, and coaxed him playfully, "Alan, did you miss Grandma?"
Looking at the elderly woman before him, Alan recalled every bit of the three years they had spent together. He had long since regarded Porlyusica as his own biological grandmother. Therefore, Alan wrapped his arms around Porlyusica's head and planted a kiss on her cheek. "Of course I missed Grandma~"
Having been kissed by Alan, Porlyusica's face broke into a radiant smile, and she kissed Alan's chubby cheeks several times, laughing as she did so.
The grandmother and grandson hugged each other affectionately, enjoying this warm and fleeting moment.
After a moment, Alan gently loosened his embrace, raised his head, and looked at Porlyusica as he spoke, "Grandma, there is something I want to tell you. Lately, I've discovered that I can perceive magical power. Not only that, I also feel as if something is hidden inside my body."
Upon hearing Alan's words, Porlyusica's originally kind and gentle expression instantly turned grave. She carefully placed Alan onto the bed, then summoned all her magical power, concentrated her mind, and meticulously investigated the interior of Alan's body.
Seconds and minutes ticked away as Porlyusica focused every ounce of her attention, but after a prolonged examination, she still failed to detect the mysterious presence Alan had spoken of. Fine beads of sweat gradually appeared on her forehead, and the anxiety in her heart grew increasingly intense.
Finally, she stopped, looked at Alan with a face full of worry, and asked urgently, "Alan, tell Grandma quickly, where did you sense this thing? And do you feel any discomfort anywhere in your body?"
Alan frowned, thought carefully for a moment, and replied, "Grandma, I can sense its existence, but I can't explain clearly where it is. So far, I haven't felt any physical discomfort at all. On the contrary, I have an intuition that this thing won't bring me any harm."
Hearing Alan's explanation, Porlyusica felt a slight sense of relief, but she still could not put her mind completely at ease. She decided to call for outside help to solve Alan's problem.
"Alan, wait for Grandma at home. Grandma is going out for a moment and will be right back," Porlyusica said, before hurrying out the door.
Alan knew that Porlyusica had gone to find Makarov, which would also happen to provide a way for Makarov to articulate the existence of Gallantmon X.
Before long, Porlyusica returned with Makarov. On the way, Porlyusica had already told Makarov about Alan's condition, so Makarov's expression was quite solemn as well.
Wasting no time on re-examining the condition inside Alan's body, he went straight to the point and asked Alan, "Alan, tell Grandpa, can you still perceive the existence of that thing right now?"
Alan nodded affirmatively at Makarov. Makarov furrowed his brow slightly and fell into a brief contemplation.
After quite a while, he slowly raised his head, turned his gaze to Porlyusica standing beside them, and said, "I had some thoughts on the way here. That thing is very likely hidden deep within Alan's soul—specifically, in the consciousness space involved when certain Mages use Take-Over Magic. The reason I make this guess is because Alan not only clearly perceives its existence, but also explicitly stated that this thing will not cause him any harm. Synthesizing all these circumstances, my deduction should be correct. It's just that for now, since Alan is still quite young, we will simply have to wait for him to grow up slowly before we find out what that thing actually is."
Having heard Makarov's detailed explanation, Porlyusica, whose face had been full of anxiety, felt a weight lift from her shoulders, though as long as the true nature of that thing remained unknown, her inner worries could never be completely dispelled.
At that moment, Alan stood up from the bed, walked over to Porlyusica, opened his arms to hug her upper body by the bedside, and gently comforted her, "Grandma, don't worry! Since Grandpa Makarov said so, I will definitely be fine!"
Porlyusica wrapped her arms around Alan in return, her eyes now brimming with tears. "Mhm! Grandma believes Alan will be fine too!"
