Malcolm's originally ferocious expression began to shift. The harsh ruthlessness gradually faded, replaced by a rising tide of terror welling up from deep within. Yet, as he recalled his past experiences and the helpless, controlled people standing right before him, a wave of madness took over once again, instantly drowning out the fear that had just surfaced.
With eyes wide open, he glared at Alan and shouted defiantly, "Do you dare ignore the lives of these people? As a member of the Luminary Guild, you certainly wouldn't dare!"
Faced with Malcolm's provocation and questioning, Alan offered no response. He simply steadied Aegis in front of him, assuming a stance ready for a charge. Then, with a low shout and a burst of explosive power from his legs, he shot forward like an arrow released from a drawn bow.
