Fang Chen stood before Fang Hai and Fang Ling, clearly observing the surging spiritual energy gathering around them. Yet, due to the presence of the nine transverse bones, that energy remained unable to penetrate their bodies.
"Those with supernatural powers master spiritual energy by using their qi and blood to stimulate these transverse bones. Therefore, the nine transverse bones are the key to wielding such power. Qi and blood are easily stimulated because they are born from within—the closest proximity yields the quickest results. Spiritual energy, however, is not easily stimulated because it is an external force. Perhaps the techniques of the Nine Realms are incompatible here simply because the people of the Nine Realms never possessed these nine transverse bones."
Fang Chen was lost in thought, then chuckled to himself. "Since they are incompatible with the environment, I shall make some adjustments to help you adapt to the local customs."
