"Flat-peach rice," she murmured, suddenly delighted. She recalled a very special cookbook from the Southern Song Dynasty written by Lin Hong, titled something like *Mountain Home Dietary Delicacies*. It contained the method for making flat-peach rice: "Gather wild peaches, boil them in rice water, drain them and place them in clean water, remove the pits, wait for the rice to boil and thicken, then simmer them together, just as one would steam rice."
