Upon hearing Yun Mu's words, the three people present all fell into a silence.
After a long while, Director Wang Zhengyu looked at Yun Mu with a solemn expression and asked earnestly, "If you were the director, how would you want to record Back to Field?"
To his question, Yun Mu seemed to have already prepared an answer.
"Livestreaming!"
"Livestreaming?"
"Yes. From the moment the guests arrive at the recording location, the livestream starts. Except for scenes that expose privacy, everything else will be livestreamed from start to finish."
"And I'm talking about livestreaming without any beauty filters—presenting every authentic scene to the audience in its truest form!"
Hearing this, Wang Zhengyu said with some worry, "If we livestream the whole thing, a few problems will arise. First of all, what should we do if some accident happens during the broadcast?"
At this, Yun Mu smiled lightly and explained, "Isn't that just the most authentic part of life? You shouldn't worry about whether so-called broadcasting accidents might happen."
"Before inviting the guests, make these terms clear and write them into the contract. If they agree, naturally they won't mind these things; if they do mind, they won't come."
Hearing Yun Mu's explanation, Wang Zhengyu was still somewhat concerned. "However, full-coverage livestreaming puts a tremendous amount of pressure on everyone."
Yun Mu sighed. "Back to Field is a lifestyle variety show. The guests' daily routines are supposed to be what you want to show the audience in the first place."
"And what the audience wants to see is the most genuine state of the guests' lives."
"If everything follows a script, why would anyone watch Back to Field? Aren't movies and TV dramas the same thing? Besides, aren't scripted plots much more exciting than Back to Field?"
Listening to Yun Mu, He Jiong and the other two could not help falling into deep thought.
Livestreaming the whole process was indeed a challenge for them.
For Wang Zhengyu, this challenge was even greater. If he succeeded, his standing in the variety show circle would rise even higher.
But if he failed, not only would the reputation of Back to Field be ruined, but he himself would also become the laughingstock of the industry, and in all likelihood, face a storm of public criticism.
The atmosphere in the room instantly grew heavy.
After a long while, Teacher Huang suddenly raised his head, a sharp gleam flashing in his eyes.
"Jiongjiong, do you dare to take a gamble on this one more time?!"
Hearing this, He Jiong gave a carefree smile, lifted his chin, and said triumphantly, "Teacher Huang, you must be mistaken. My primary job is being a host!"
"I've experienced things like livestreaming more times than I can count!"
"The reason I didn't speak up just now was because I was afraid you guys wouldn't dare. I wanted to bring it up first, but I was worried it would put you on the spot and make things awkward!"
Hearing him say this, Teacher Huang puffed out his chest immediately, his eyes widening.
"So what if you're a host? I've acted in stage plays too! The audience is right there below the stage—isn't that just like a livestream?!"
"Hmph, stage plays—who hasn't acted in one?"
He Jiong let out a proud, haughty cold snort, and then began to recite the classic lines from the stage play he and Teacher Huang had performed together back in the day.
"How quiet. I've never seen such a quiet Magic City. It feels as though only the two of us are left in the entire Magic City."
"Look at the lights in the water, they look like... they look like a scene from a dream, as if everything has stopped."
"Everything has stopped, this night has stopped, the moon has stopped, the street lamps, the swing, you and me, everything has stopped."
As the two of them recited the lines, they both broke out into genuine, happy laughter.
Only Wang Zhengyu still furrowed his brow, weighing the pros and cons.
Seeing this, Teacher Huang reached out his leg and gave Wang Zhengyu a kick.
"Have you made up your mind yet? Why are you, a young man, lacking the drive of us two old guys?"
He Jiong chimed in from the side, adding fuel to the fire, "Exactly. And they call this generation young people—completely lacking in backbone."
Wang Zhengyu gritted his teeth, suddenly raised his head, and looked straight at Yun Mu.
"How confident are you that a livestreamed variety show can succeed?"
Hearing this, Yun Mu shook his head repeatedly.
"I'm just an ordinary person. What I just said were merely some passing thoughts of mine. How would I know what the odds of success are?"
Then, seeing that Wang Zhengyu had fallen back into hesitation, Yun Mu paused slightly and added, "However, Mr. Lu Xun once said: the first person to eat a crab is truly admirable—who dares to eat it if not a brave soul?"
"Whether you get a delicious meal or get pinched, you'll only know after trying, won't you?"
As Yun Mu's voice trailed off, the expression on Wang Zhengyu's face instantly hardened with determination.
"Let's do it!"
He slammed his fist onto the table and gazed intently at Yun Mu.
"Yun Mu, do you have any other suggestions? Let's hear them."
Hearing his inquiry, Yun Mu couldn't help looking somewhat bewildered.
"What other suggestions?"
"About the upcoming livestream, of course! How do you think we should conduct the broadcast?"
Hearing this, Yun Mu scratched his head in a bit of awkwardness.
"What other ways could there be?"
"First, lock down a livestreaming platform and negotiate a partnership with them—whether it's exclusive or not. This should be able to turn a profit; after all, Back to Field still has a massive audience base, which is a great way to drive traffic for the platform. I believe any platform would be more than willing to cooperate with you."
"Then, ask the platform for support: traffic, technology, and so on."
"Finally, set up the camera angles—fixed cameras, mobile cameras—and then you're ready to stream. Just keep a close eye on the site during the broadcast and switch to the most suitable angles based on the real-time situation."
Listening to Yun Mu, the previously chaotic thoughts in Wang Zhengyu's mind gradually cleared up.
"I'm going back to rewrite my proposal!"
With that, he turned around and dashed out the door.
He Jiong turned to look at Yun Mu, his eyes full of warmth and affection.
Both he and Teacher Huang held a deep emotional attachment to Back to Field. If not for exceptional circumstances, they wouldn't have wanted Back to Field to become their final season.
And now, Yun Mu might just have breathed new life into Back to Field!
"Xiaomu, thank you!"
At this moment, his eyes were faintly red.
"Oh, come on, I was just sharing my own thoughts, talking nonsense."
Just at that moment, Teacher Huang suddenly chimed in, "Xiaomu, why don't you stay and join us in recording Back to Field?"
Hearing Teacher Huang's words, He Jiong's eyes lit up as well, and he looked at Yun Mu expectantly.
"That's right! Besides, your new home hasn't been finished yet, and you don't have a place to stay anyway. You might as well live right here and record Back to Field with us along the way."
Hearing this, Yun Mu shook his head repeatedly, the smile on his face instantly vanishing.
"Thank you both teachers for the invitation. I'm truly grateful for your approval."
"However, I'm just an ordinary person. Returning to my hometown, I only want a peaceful and carefree life."
"My personality isn't suited for a career in the entertainment industry, and that kind of environment isn't what I enjoy either."
"Thank you both teachers for your hospitality, but I'll be taking my leave now."
"Goodbye, Teacher He, Teacher Huang."
With that, Yun Mu stood up directly, bid farewell to He Jiong and Teacher Huang, and walked outside.
After seeing Yun Mu off, He Jiong and Teacher Huang had just returned to Mushroom House when Wang Zhengyu came rushing over in a flurry.
"Huh? Where's Yun Mu?"
"He left. What's wrong?"
"Ah, I was in too much of a rush just now. I wanted to invite him to participate in the livestream recording of Back to Field."
He Jiong and Teacher Huang exchanged glances.
"We just invited him, and he turned us down."
"What? He turned you down?"
