Having taken a week off in advance, Yu Hai joined Old Xu and Lin Wenze on a flight to Yucheng. Yucheng was the host city for the first stage of the Qingping Music Festival: the musical duel.
As a Gold-tier composer, Yu Hai was not technically required to attend the symposium, but Lin Wenze felt he should get out and see the world, so he brought him along. Yu Hai had no objections. He was genuinely curious about the symposium himself. Besides, he would just be an audience member, no need to be in the spotlight. Old Xu was handling the flights and lodging, so all Yu Hai had to do was follow the big shots and not even worry about carrying his own bag. Why wouldn’t he want that?
