Several people were sipping tea in the study.
The tea was top-grade West Lake Longjing, with a pale green liquor and a sweet aftertaste.
"Chairman Meng, Elder Wu has arrived and is waiting in the living room," Uncle Li said, knocking on the study door.
"Let's go, Huaijin, and inform Elder Meng."
"Understood."
"Grandpa, Elder Wu is here, let's go down."
As soon as Meng Huaijin entered the room, he saw Elder Meng's red-rimmed eyes and immediately knew what had happened.
"Let's go."
Meng Huaijin walked over and supported Elder Meng as they went downstairs.
The younger family members sitting in the living room hurriedly stood up to greet Elder Meng when they saw him coming down.
Meng Huaijin also caught sight of someone he disliked.
"Hello, Grandpa Meng!" Wu Na said.
"Nana came to Grandpa's house today? Welcome, welcome!"
Wu Na looked at the tall, distinguished man beside Elder Meng. With his cold, aloof expression and navy blue suit today, he looked even more handsome and debonair.
After Elder Meng came downstairs and took his seat, Elder Wu began discussing the upcoming continental economic forum with Elder Meng and Meng Yunheng.
Meanwhile, Wu Na sat obediently beside Elder Wu, casting occasional glances at Meng Huaijin.
Elder Meng noticed that a young girl like Wu Na probably had no interest in listening to their business talk.
"Nana, I'll have Uncle Li take you over to Huaining's place; they're by the greenhouse."
"Alright, thank you, Grandpa Meng."
She then stood up and bid farewell to the elders.
Inside the greenhouse:
"Zhiyun, you can finally set your mind at ease now, can't you? Huaijin is married too. God knows what you were worrying about all this time," Meng Yunxin said, sipping her tea.
"Who knows? Did you ever see any woman by his side before? Every time there was a banquet, he would just hang out with Xiao Zhengting and the others, putting on a 'stay away from me' expression. I couldn't understand it myself. How did our son turn out like that? Who on earth did he take after?"
"As if Yunheng was easygoing before you got married. He's just like his father," Uncle Huaijin's wife chimed in.
The group chatted and laughed.
Outside the greenhouse, several younger members were watching Meng Huaicheng and Fu Wenying play a game of Go.
Meng Huaining remarked, "Brother Cheng, you're about to be utterly crushed by Wenying."
Meng Huaicheng smiled and said, "My sister-in-law's Go skills are superb; I gracefully concede defeat."
"Hahaha, Big Brother, you flatter me, you flatter me," Fu Wenying said modestly.
"Alright, alright, Big Brother, you and Second Brother can take your time playing. Sister-in-law, come help me look at Gucci's latest collection of handbags," Meng Huaining said, pulling Fu Wenying to sit down nearby.
They began discussing the upcoming winter new releases from luxury brands, which top VIPs like them were able to preview and purchase before they hit the market.
Inside the greenhouse, Meng Yunxin watched as Uncle Li brought in a young girl. "Whose daughter is that?"
The group looked outside the greenhouse. "It's Elder Wu's granddaughter. She used to come to our house with Elder Wu quite often," Lin Zhiyun explained.
After entering the room to greet Lin Zhiyun and the others, Wu Na walked outside. "Huaining, I'm here."
Fu Wenying looked up and her eyes met Wu Na's. Wu Na looked at Fu Wenying, who was wearing a navy blue skirt—cold, noble, poised, and elegant, exuding good breeding in every gesture. Remembering Meng Huaijin's navy blue suit, she found the matching pair grating to her eyes.
"Nana, you're here. Come, let me introduce you to my third brother's newlywed wife."
"I know. Fu Wenying, hello!"
Wu Na reached out to shake hands with Fu Wenying.
As the daughter of the Fu Family, how could Fu Wenying not know about Wu Na's feelings for Meng Huaijin?
So what if she did? Meng Huaijin was the one who loved her. On that point alone, Wu Na had lost completely.
Fu Wenying graciously returned the greeting.
