The morning of the wedding arrived in a flash. Fu Wenying rose early, and as she took in the lively atmosphere of the house, she fully accepted the reality of her rebirth.
She was filled with deep emotion; today, she was to marry Meng Huaijin once again.
She gazed at the wedding certificate written by Meng Huaijin’s own hand; the vigorous and powerful running script perfectly reflected his bold and imposing character.
At that moment, Meng Huaijin was dressed in a bespoke suit. He looked tall, handsome, and spirited, and his usually cold face wore a rare smile. His fingers brushed against a photo of Fu Wenying on his phone screen.
He was finally bringing her home. As for those other matters, he would explain them to her slowly in time; their future together would be long.
Meng Yunheng walked over, patted his shoulder, and said, "A-Jin, you are getting married today. Dad wishes for you and Wenying to be of one mind forever and to grow old together. Now that you have married the girl you love, you must cherish her with all your heart."
"Indeed. I have always envied the love between you and Mom. I only hope Wenying can understand me—understand that I forced her to marry me by holding her family’s company over her head." The father and son looked down at Lin Zhiyun, who was busy working downstairs.
"A-Jin, we’re here. It’s time to go collect the bride," Xu Junxi called out from the living room downstairs.
Hearing Xu Junxi’s voice, Meng Huaijin turned to Meng Yunheng and said, "Dad, let’s head down."
Meng Yunheng straightened Meng Huaijin’s wedding attire and remarked, "My son, the son of Meng Yunheng, looks truly extraordinary, ha ha ha." For once, Meng Huaijin laughed aloud as well.
He followed his father downstairs. When the group below saw Meng Yunheng, they all stood up and greeted him, "Hello, Uncle Meng!"
Meng Yunheng replied with a smile, "Hello, hello! Make yourselves at home today and just enjoy the day!"
"We will, thank you, Uncle Meng," the group replied with smiles. They settled onto the sofas.
"Man, A-Jin, it is truly an honor for a Keimel suit to be worn by you," Liu Zhenyu said, leaning back against the sofa languidly, still looking like he hadn't fully woken up.
Meanwhile, at the Fu Family Mansion, Fu Wenying was dressed in a bespoke Xiuhe suit, looking noble and elegant as her makeup artist attended to her.
"Wenying, we’re here!" Appearing before her were her two best friends, Su Yan and Xu Ying. They had grown up together; they were Fu Wenying’s childhood companions.
"Oh! Our beautiful, moving Wenying is marrying our Young Master Meng today!" Su Yan teased her.
Xu Ying looked at Fu Wenying in the mirror and said, "Wenying, you must be happy. You’re the first one among us to get married."
Fu Wenying looked at her sisters, blushing as she replied, "Oh, I know, I know." Only in front of her family and these friends could she set aside her strong and proud persona.
"You’ll definitely be happy. I heard that all the white roses and other flowers at your wedding were flown in from the Netherlands. And your wedding gown—Meng Huaijin spent four months having it custom-made by Keimel. It cost 30 million. It’s absolutely incredible!" Su Yan said, her face full of envy.
Fu Wenying tapped her on the forehead. "You’ll have all this too, you little silly."
"I truly love him, so I will be happy. Trust me. As for Zhu Yan, it’s as if he never existed." Su Yan and Xu Ying felt as if a heavy stone had been lifted from their hearts.
Just then, Fu Yixing and Zhou Lanzhi entered. Xu Ying and Su Yan stepped aside and greeted them, "Hello, Uncle Fu, Auntie Zhou."
Fu Yixing and Zhou Lanzhi nodded in acknowledgment.
"Nannan, you are starting your own family today. You will have your own little household, and you must learn how to get along well with your husband. You have been the apple of my eye since you were small, and after today, you will be someone else’s wife. Your mother and I will always be behind you, supporting you," Father Fu said, his voice choking with emotion.
Mother Fu wiped away tears on the side. Fu Wenying walked over and said, "Mom, I’m just getting married, I’m still your daughter. Don’t cry." As she spoke, a few tears escaped her own eyes.
Meng Huaijin and his friends set off to collect the bride. The fleet of Rolls-Royces, worth hundreds of millions, traveled down the main road, causing many pedestrians to stop and watch. All of Yancheng knew that today, the son of the Meng Family was marrying the cherished daughter of the Fu Family.
Before long, they arrived at the Fu residence.
