On the Xuanxiao Continent, Sword Dao is supreme. Across this vast land, countless martial artists take the sword as their soul, pursuing the pinnacle of Sword Dao mastery.
In this era, although the Lin Family is not a top-tier clan, it remains a powerful force in its own right, possessing its own Sword Dao heritage.
Early in the morning, the first rays of sunlight illuminate the Lin Family estate, yet they fail to dispel the gloom in Lin Xinghe's heart. Standing before the clan gates, she gazes blankly ahead, her heart filled with bitterness and helplessness.
Lin Xinghe, the legitimate daughter of the Lin Family, was once the pride of her clan, but now she has been reduced to an outcast.
"Lin Xinghe, you have been expelled from the clan. From this day forward, you are no longer the legitimate daughter of the Lin Family." Lin Xiao, the First Elder of the Lin Family, speaks in a cold voice that echoes through the air, carrying an undeniable authority.
Lin Xinghe understands well that all of this is because Lin Xiao, in order to consolidate his own position, did not hesitate to sacrifice her, the legitimate daughter of the family. Lowering her head to suppress the surging anger and resentment within, she turns and leaves the land that once belonged to her.
The moment she steps outside the Lin Family gates, Lin Xinghe's tears finally fall. Dragging her exhausted body, she walks along the familiar path as the clan head's cold words echo in her ears. Her heart is filled with grievance and despair, but even more so with determination and resolve.
"I will not surrender like this," Lin Xinghe vows silently in her heart. She will reclaim the dignity and glory that rightfully belong to her and her younger sister, Lin Yuehe.
Just as she is about to leave the territory of the Lin Family, she brushes against the Sword Tomb Jade Pendant left behind by her Mother, which she wears at her chest. This pendant is her only heirloom, usually remaining silent and dormant. But today, it suddenly emits a faint glow, as if guiding her forward.
A jolt goes through Lin Xinghe's heart. She takes the pendant from her bosom and examines it closely. Complex runes are engraved upon its surface, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura. Suddenly, the runes on the pendant come alive, slowly lighting up and releasing a powerful surge of energy that pours into her body.
Lin Xinghe feels a warm current rise from her Dantian, flowing along her meridians and seeming to wash away her exhaustion in an instant. She raises her head, her gaze turning resolute.
The light of the pendant guides her, leading her before a concealed cave. Located within a desolate valley surrounded by dense forests, the cave is almost entirely forgotten by the world. Lin Xinghe stands at the entrance, her heart filled with unease and curiosity. Hesitating for a moment, she finally summons her courage and steps inside.
Darkness shrouds the interior, but the glow of the pendant acts like a beacon, illuminating the path ahead. She proceeds with caution, her footsteps echoing heavily in the cavern.
After walking a short distance, the cave suddenly opens up, revealing a strange space before Lin Xinghe's eyes. The air here is permeated with a faint Sword Qi, and the surrounding stone walls are carved with ancient Sword Dao runes, as if recounting the tales of the ancient Sword Saints.
At that moment, a voice sounds beside her ear: "Welcome to the Sword Tomb Secret Realm."
Lin Xinghe whips her head around to see a man in traditional robes standing behind her. He is handsome, his eyes carrying a hint of defiance, yet his lips curve into a mysterious smile.
"Who are you?" Lin Xinghe asks vigilantly, the jade pendant in her hand flashing with light, ready for combat at any moment.
"I am Yun Wufeng, the guardian of the Sword Tomb Secret Realm," the man says with a smile, his tone tinged with amusement. "The pendant you carry is the key to opening the Sword Tomb. Only the true Sword Tomb Successor can be chosen by it."
A chill strikes Lin Xinghe's heart as she feels an invisible force envelop her, as if testing her aptitude and resolve.
"Why did you choose me?" Lin Xinghe asks in a deep voice.
Yun Wufeng smiles faintly, his eyes flashing with wisdom. "Because you are the legitimate daughter of the Lin Family, and the last person to possess the bloodline of the Sword Tomb. The inheritance of the ancient Sword Saints will ultimately fall upon your shoulders."
A complex mixture of emotions wells up in Lin Xinghe's heart—a yearning for the future intertwined with a fear of the unknown.
"Very well, I am willing to accept the trial," Lin Xinghe says, taking a deep breath and looking at Yun Wufeng with steadfast eyes. "Not only for myself, but also for my sister, I will reclaim everything that belongs to us."
Yun Wufeng nods. "The trials within the Sword Tomb Secret Realm will be the beginning of your growth."
Lin Xinghe nods, her heart brimming with determination. She steps forward, preparing to meet the challenges to come.
"Remember, the trials of the Sword Tomb Secret Realm are not merely a test of Sword Dao, but a trial of your very character," Yun Wufeng's voice rings out behind her, sounding like a warning bell.
Lin Xinghe does not look back. With steady steps, she walks toward her unknown journey.
At the cave entrance, Yun Wufeng watches her retreating figure quietly, a meaningful smile playing on his lips.
Wait if you will; the trials of the Nine Heavens of Sword Soul are about to unfold within this secret realm.
With a wave of Yun Wufeng's sleeve, the surrounding scenery changes abruptly. Lin Xinghe feels her vision blur before she finds herself in a chaotic space. Countless sword shadows dart about like swimming dragons, their razor-sharp Sword Qi making her skin prickle with pain.
"The Nine Heavens of Sword Soul—every single heaven demands a corresponding price," Yun Wufeng's voice echoes through the void, cold and merciless. "If you wish to gain power, you must make sacrifices. The first heaven: sacrifice an equivalent amount of cultivation, and endure the agony of Sword Qi cleansing your body."
Lin Xinghe's face drains of color. Sacrificing her cultivation would undoubtedly cut off any possibility of rapid advancement. Worse still, she must endure the excruciating pain of Sword Qi tempering her flesh!
Yet, thinking of Lin Xiao's treacherous face and the grievances her sister Lin Yuehe suffered in the Lin Family, she bites down hard on her lips, a blazing fire igniting in her eyes.
"I am willing!"
The moment Yun Wufeng speaks, Lin Xinghe feels the spiritual energy in her Dantian recede like a tide, replaced by a violent, rampaging Sword Qi. The energy tears through her body, threatening to rip her meridians apart inch by inch.
"Ah—!"
Lin Xinghe lets out a piercing shriek. She feels as though her body is about to explode, every single inch of her skin undergoing unimaginable torment. Sweat pours down like rain, her face as pale as paper, her whole body trembling violently.
Yet, she does not give up. Clenching her teeth, she mobilizes the remnants of her spiritual energy, attempting to guide the rampaging Sword Qi.
Time ticks away second by second, and Lin Xinghe's consciousness begins to blur. She feels as though she is plunged into purgatory, enduring endless suffering.
Just as she is on the verge of collapsing, the Sword Tomb Jade Pendant at her chest once again emits a gentle radiance. The light acts like a miraculous balm, moistening her parched meridians and easing the agony in her body.
With the help of the pendant, Lin Xinghe finally stabilizes the Sword Qi within her and begins attempting to absorb it.
It is an excruciatingly slow and painful process. The Sword Qi acts like countless sharp blades, endlessly slicing through her flesh and blood. She feels as if her body is being torn into shards, the pain almost unbearable.
Still, she refuses to yield. She repeats to herself over and over that she must hold on. For revenge, for her sister, she must become stronger!
At last, after a long and grueling ordeal, she successfully absorbs the first wisp of the Power of the Sword Soul.
At that moment, an unprecedented surge of power floods into her body. Within her Dantian, a tiny sword-shaped seed forms, casting a faint glow.
Lin Xinghe slowly opens her eyes. She has succeeded! She has successfully absorbed the first heaven of the Sword Soul!
Clenching her fists and feeling the surging power within her body, she wears a confident smile. No longer is she the bullied outcast of the Lin Family. She now possesses the Power of the Sword Soul, and the capital required for revenge!
"Not bad, you actually succeeded," Yun Wufeng's voice sounds once again, tinged with surprise. "However, this is merely the beginning. Each of the Nine Heavens of Sword Soul is far more difficult than the last. Are you ready?"
Taking a deep breath, Lin Xinghe flashes a resolute look. "I am ready!"
Feeling the surging Power of the Sword Soul inside her, Lin Xinghe knows it is time to return—to return to that Lin Family filled with conspiracy and betrayal, and to reckon one by one with those who once harmed her!
"Lin Xiao, just you wait!" she vows silently in her heart.
With a flash, her figure vanishes into the chaotic space.
When she reappears, she is standing outside the Lin Family estate, her gaze cold and unwavering. She will return to the Lin Family under a brand-new identity and expose the conspiracies lurking in the shadows, one by one.
Then, let it all begin with acting the part of an unremarkable humble servant...
