Believing the Traveler to be an immortal envoy dispatched by the Adepti, Li Ding begged the Traveler to save his brother, and the Traveler agreed. After shattering several amber crystals—which only contained Hilichurls and other such creatures—they finally succeeded in rescuing Li Dang. Expressing their profound gratitude to the Traveler, the man declared himself a mere mortal with no affinity to behold the Adepti, whereas the Traveler, holding the noble status of an "immortal envoy," was worthy of an audience with them, and with that, he departed.
