Chapter 7

Paimon explained with great enthusiasm, while the Knights of Favonius listened with a mixture of doubt and curiosity.
It was hard to blame their skepticism. After all, dealing with the dragon crisis and purifying Stormterror...
If someone claimed the Anemo Archon had done it, they might have believed it to some extent.
Did this Traveler truly possess such power?
Noticing the uncertain gazes of the four members of the Knights, Guchen felt a momentary lapse in judgment, and he instinctively replied:
"I am different from the gods. I am merely a traveler, and I don't possess their kind of power. Ahem... Still, every profession has its masters. What Venti cannot do, perhaps I can."
As his voice trailed off, Guchen flicked his hand forward, casually unleashing a tiny fraction of his Full Moon Wave.
A few radiant particles of light flickered from his fingertips.
These light particles grazed past the four members of the Knights, flashing and vanishing around them in an instant.
In that fleeting second, all four of them immediately felt their minds calm down. Any lingering negative emotions vanished into thin air, their fatigue completely disappeared, and they felt invigorated from head to toe!
Their eyes lighting up, the four members of the Knights looked at Guchen in pleasant surprise.
Paimon put her hands on her hips, wagged her finger, and looked rather pleased with herself:
"Well? Do you believe it now?"
Jean nodded eagerly:
"We believe it. Mr. Guchen, thank you for your righteous assistance. The Knights of Favonius are beyond grateful."
Guchen waved his hand:
"Don't thank me just yet. I don't know for certain if I can resolve all of this one hundred percent. I just made the same promise to Venti."
At this point, Lisa took over the conversation:
"In any case, Mr. Guchen's extraordinary power is a tremendous help to us. There is hope for the Wolf Lord to be saved, and Razor as well, no doubt..."
Razor?
Guchen gave Lisa a slightly surprised look before sudden understanding dawned on him.
Of course. He had almost forgotten about that little wolf pup.
That little wolf cub had always lived with the wolf pack in Wolvendom and had long been under the protection of Lupus Boreas, Andrius.
Since something had happened to Andrius, Razor couldn't possibly be spared; there was a high probability he had also been corrupted by the Abyss.
As Razor's master, it was only natural for Lisa to worry about her disciple.
Therefore, as the members of the Knights and Venti discussed the details of the upcoming operation, Guchen paid close attention to Lisa.
He noticed that while Lisa remained as calm and composed as ever, the worry between her brows could not be entirely erased.
While they discussed their plans, Guchen and Paimon sat quietly on a nearby sofa and waited.
Rather than just waiting, Guchen's consciousness sank deep into his mind, where he communicated with the system to initiate this round of the lottery.
Ah, he hadn't explained the system's lottery mechanic yet.
It was actually quite simple: alter the storyline, change the established destiny.
As long as the established fate of the original story was changed, the system would accumulate lottery draws.
Every time the draw count reached ten, Guchen could perform a ten-pull.
Single pulls were possible too, of course, though whether miracles would happen then was anyone's guess.
Compared to single pulls, Guchen was more accustomed to saving up for a ten-pull all at once.
And sure enough, due to defeating Stormterror Dvalin ahead of schedule and purifying it, the course of fate had changed drastically, allowing the system to accumulate twenty pulls.
Without hesitation, Guchen used both ten-pulls.
Soon, he opened his eyes, a look of mild surprise in them.
Out of the two ten-pulls, aside from a few useless items, there were two genuinely useful skills.
One skill was the Barrier of Light, which possessed extraordinarily powerful defensive capabilities.
The other skill was Ultra Psychokinesis, a versatile ability with a wide range of uses, practically a jack-of-all-trades power.
Feeling these two techniques imprinted in his mind—mastered as if he had practiced them ten million times—Guchen could not help a smile forming at the corners of his mouth.
The lottery results were quite satisfactory; the system hadn't cheated him.
Sitting obediently nearby, Paimon noticed Guchen suddenly smiling and hurried over with keen interest:
"Guchen, did something good happen?"
Guchen didn't keep secrets from his companion:
"Yes, indeed. Good news. Just a moment ago, I learned two new moves."
Paimon was extremely surprised:
"Eh? You learned two new moves again? But how did you learn them? You've been sitting right here the whole time!"
Guchen smiled mysteriously:
"Just pretend I... learned them in a dream."
Paimon pouted, looking somewhat displeased:
"Hey, do you take Paimon for a fool? How could anyone learn anything in a dream?"
"Why couldn't they? Besides, it feels as though I've practiced them many times already; I'm already extremely proficient in these two new techniques. Never mind, you wouldn't believe it anyway. I'll just show you the new moves when the time comes, and then you'll believe it."
Paimon pinched her chin, looking dead serious:
"Fine. You're a mysterious guy with plenty of magical qualities I can't quite figure out. No matter, though. I don't even know what I am myself, so there are plenty of mysterious things in this world!"
At that, Guchen couldn't help lowering his voice:
"I have to say, Paimon, you really do have a big heart. You haven't even figured out who you really are—aren't you worried at all?"
"What's there to worry about? As long as you're by my side, as long as you're my partner, that's enough."
Guchen felt an indescribable warmth swell in his chest, and he nodded earnestly:
"Alright, of course I'm your partner. Always will be."
While the two companions were whispering to each other over here, the Knights of Favonius and their Anemo Archon had finalized their operation.
Actually, there wasn't much strategy to speak of—just charge straight into the lion's den!
Or rather, as the saying goes: if you don't enter Wolvendom, how can you catch the wolf cub?
With that, everyone gathered together, made their preparations, and left Mondstadt, heading straight for Wolvendom!
Given the urgency of the time and the considerable distance, even taking a boat would have taken quite a while.
Therefore, Venti simply displayed his divine might, creating a continuous current of wind around them.
This way, everyone only needed to deploy their wind gliders to fly swiftly toward Wolvendom, propelled by the steady updraft.
Fortunately, when Guchen had first entered Mondstadt, he had made the acquaintance of Amber, who happened to have given him a wind glider.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to ride the wind.
Maintaining their formation and being driven through the air by the wind currents, Guchen rode his wind glider with the tailwind while thinking to himself:
Sooner or later, I'll have to pull a flight ability from the lottery, otherwise traveling like this is far too inconvenient.
Before long, their group arrived safely at the outskirts of Wolvendom, landing just outside that massive Wind Barrier.
Looking at this towering, gigantic Wind Barrier that enclosed the entire area of Wolvendom, Paimon's jaw dropped in disbelief.
Then, she shot a look of shock and disdain toward Venti beside her.
To think he possessed the power to encircle the entire Wolvendom, yet had the nerve to claim he was weak!
A dignified Anemo Archon—where was his shame?!
And so, an indignant Paimon resumed her grievances regarding Venti's previous words and actions.
Venti hugged his lyre in one arm while awkwardly scratching his head with the other.
