His scent and touch were blocked by his mask. Wearing 3D glasses, I couldn't even see his face clearly; behind the lenses, I saw only a blurred silhouette. After the kiss, seeing that I didn't respond, he let go and slowly backed away. I grabbed his collar, yanked off his mask, and while he stood there stunned with his mouth slightly agape, I kissed him directly. These were not the lips I remembered. They lacked texture and softness; they were merely two shapes, marked by strange, jagged scars. I couldn't imagine how severe the car accident must have been—he must have been in such excruciating pain back then.
