I steadied his head with my hands. "Have you been drinking?"
"Mm," he replied. "I've been having a bit of trouble sleeping."
I shifted to the side, letting him rest his head on my lap, and stroked his hair, the way one might pet a dog. He turned over, facing my stomach, and curled his long limbs up like an infant; the large sofa suddenly seemed small. He took a deep breath against me and let out a sigh of contentment.
