Today, a gloomy winter drizzle began to fall, pattering softly. The sky was cast in an ashen, pale haze, and the raindrops, fine as ice needles, silently pierced every street and alley.
The arcade buildings of the old town were covered in mottled, weathered walls. Occasionally, stray cats dashed into the stairwells of the buildings to escape the rain, curling up into tight little balls.
