A notification pulsed on the display: "Ventilation System Activated." The words seemed like a malicious demon, the flickering red light threatening to sear his eyes. A wave of intense foreboding washed over him; he knew this meant the subway ventilation system had been maliciously compromised, and a massive crisis was quietly unfolding. His hand began to tremble uncontrollably, the phone swaying in his palm. Cold sweat rolled down his forehead, dripping onto the screen and blurring the chilling notification. "Damn it!" Liang Song shouted desperately in his mind. Countless terrifying scenarios flashed before him: once the ventilation system was sabotaged, toxic gas could rapidly permeate the station, or the ducts could explode. The passengers were in mortal danger.
