Just as they approached Hagrid’s cabin, Fang came bounding out, circling them excitedly. Albert crouched down, reached out to pat the dog’s head and scratch its chin, which finally calmed Fang down. Hagrid had already pushed open the wooden door and invited everyone inside. The cabin was just a single room. Hams and roasted pheasants hung from the ceiling, and a copper kettle sat on the fireplace, though the hearth fire had long since gone out. In the corner stood a large bed covered with a patchwork quilt made of scraps of fabric.
