Ever since classes started on Monday, Albert could no longer avoid his fellow schoolmates. The title of Hogwarts Champion brought him no end of trouble. The vast majority of students looked at him as if he were some rare creature, and every time he walked down the corridors, he would invariably see and hear large groups of girls giggling foolishly. During meals, girls would constantly turn their heads to stare at him, while bolder ones would approach him with handkerchiefs, schoolbags, and books for his autograph, driving him to distraction. The girls held not a shred of goodwill toward Miss Delacour, who possessed part-Veela heritage, though they confined their feelings to whispered gossip. Fleur had long since grown accustomed to those stares and idle chatter.
