Everyone stumbled along for a distance through the Forbidden Forest, the surroundings terrifyingly silent except for the occasional low growl of some unknown creature that sent chills down their spines. Suddenly, Hagrid stopped dead in his tracks and bent down to inspect a puddle of silvery liquid on the ground. The liquid shimmered with an eerie luster in the dim light. It was unusually thick, its surface rippling slightly as if it had a life of its own. It was so slick and greasy that Hagrid almost lost his grip when he touched it.
