At the Hour of Chen the following day, Ye Wuji brought the Chaos Bead to Hùnyuán Palace, where he found Shěn Qīngxuě and Xiao Hei already waiting inside. Three straw cushions were placed in the center of the hall, with the Scholar in White seated at the head. Several ancient texts and Jade Slips were neatly arranged on the table before him.
"You've arrived just in time," the Scholar in White said, nodding to Ye Wuji. "We can begin today's cultivation."
After bowing to the Scholar in White, Ye Wuji sat cross-legged on the cushion to the right. Shěn Qīngxuě sat on the left, while Xiao Hei curled up on a small mat beside her. Bái Yúnjū stood guard near the hall doors with a solemn expression, evidently on security duty.
