Du Shaofeng and Xuanyuan Liuyun operated with tacit understanding: neither pushed south, nor did the other push north, leaving Fujian Province as a buffer zone between them. Du Shaofeng moved up the river, dispatching troops to Jiangxi and the Two Hubens. Xuanyuan Liuyun likewise headed west, advancing into the three southwestern provinces. Situ Hao's next targets were Anqing and Jincheng, with his sights ultimately set on the divine capital of Kyoto and Xidu—two absolute hard nuts to crack belonging to the Heavenly Sect and the Demon Sect.
