In the first year of middle school, during a Chinese language class, a new classical text from the *Zuo Zhuan* was introduced, titled *The Duke of Zheng Defeats Duan at Yan*.
The text told the story of the power struggle during the Spring and Autumn period between Duke Zhuang of Zheng and his younger brother, Gongshu Duan.
