Chapter 12

"Phew, Yin Xi's flying kick is getting stronger and stronger."
Darram rubbed his slightly deformed face and said.
"You're just asking for it. Don't you know how much the kid dotes on Big Sis? Besides, he's Big Sis's younger brother, so of course she's going to side with him."
"That's true. Even back in the day, if Tiga bullied him, Big Sis would still go out of her way to settle the score."
"Let's not talk about this. Big Sis's mission for us isn't finished yet."
"Mommy, those two men are so weird. What are they?"
A little boy pointed at Darram and Hudra, who were squatting on the railing, and asked innocently.
At this moment, Darram and Hudra were still dressed in their Ultra-Ancient Times attire.
They were ragged all over, especially Hudra's signature messy hair.
The woman glanced at them, then hurriedly pulled her child away.
As she walked, she didn't forget to whisper to the little boy.
"Those are good-for-nothings. You mustn't end up like them."
Though her voice was very low, it still reached the ears of the two.
"Hahaha, I'm dying. Hudra, that woman called you a good-for-nothing! Hahaha, a good-for-nothing! Ha... ha... ha... ha... ha?"
"Calm down! You need to calm down! The mission is what matters. The mission!"
Hudra clamped his arm around Darram's, stopping him from rushing at the mother and child.
Darram kept flailing his arms and legs, furious.
"She actually dared to call me a good-for-nothing! I'm so pissed off. I have to teach her a lesson!"
Seeing that the mother and child had walked far away, Hudra finally let go of Darram.
Although he felt deeply resentful as well, he couldn't afford to ignore Camilla's warning.
Just then, a man brushed past them.
It instantly caught their attention.
Hudra pulled a pentagonal device from his pocket.
When he opened it, there was a photograph inside—it was precisely the man who had just walked by.
Besides this man, there were photos of several others.
All of them were humans who had been resurrected by the Angel.
Iruma Megumi had naturally given them the addresses and briefly taught them how to use the communicators.
But these two idiots had forgotten the instructions the moment they turned around.
And they were terrified of being scolded by Camilla.
In the end, the two decided to simply stake out the streets.
However, crouching on the ground didn't give them a very clear view of the crowd.
So, they chose to squat on the railing.
After confirming their target, the two hurriedly followed.
Although Darram and Hudra looked foolish, how could people who had made a massive name for themselves thirty million years ago genuinely be stupid?
The two quickly realized something was amiss.
The man ahead had noticed them long ago.
And he was intentionally leading the two of them toward a deserted area.
This happened to suit their purposes perfectly, however.
The three of them thus walked one after another into an underground passageway.
The man in front stopped.
Darram and Hudra looked at each other, unsure of what the fellow was up to.
The man slowly turned around, a mocking smile on his face.
"Although I don't know who the two of you are, the power inside your bodies can be put to good use by us."
With that, he waved both hands, and several "humans" emerged from both sides simultaneously.
Hudra quickly recognized a few familiar faces.
"Looks like these are all resurrected people."
Including the man, there were five in total.
In an instant, all five transformed from humans into Gijera, charging straight at the two of them.
Darram and Hudra exchanged glances, both seeing a smile in the other's eyes.
"Bang bang, slap, beep-beep~ doot, my friend, boom."
"Thud."
Darram casually tossed the last Gijera onto the ground.
He dusted off his hands with an expression of disgust.
"So weak."
Hudra replied while tapping away on his communicator.
"Because these Gijera are only in their most basic form, and on top of that, they just possessed humans not long ago, so their strength is definitely not high. Why don't you go try fighting that Gijera II instead?"
Darram pounded his chest—Darram refused to accept this. After thinking about it for a moment, Darram decided to keep his mouth shut.
Before long, Daigo, Shinjo, and Yin Xi arrived in a truck, wearing balaclavas.
The five of them each hoisted a Gijera who had been beaten back into human form, and with a heavy air of stealth, tossed them into the truck.
Then they looked around and verified there were no surveillance cameras or pedestrians in sight.
They jumped into the truck as well.
Shinjo reached for the driver's seat. Since Daigo had driven on the way here, he naturally assumed he would be driving back.
Noticing Shinjo's movement, Yin Xi completely flipped out.
He leaped in front of Shinjo in a single bound.
"Don't, bro, please don't. Let Daigo drive. I'm genuinely terrified this truck's going to flip on the road."
Shinjo's face instantly crumpled as if recalling some terrible memory.
Daigo didn't dawdle; he climbed straight into the driver's seat and stepped on the accelerator.
On the way back, several of the Gijera even woke up.
Darram made it clear: handling them was just a walk in the park.
Inside the TPC laboratory, Horie looked at the five people lying before him.
He let out a series of "hehehe" laughs.
One thing could be certain: those resurrected humans had likely just been possessed by Gijera.
This was a trick used to create the illusion of "resurrection" in order to deceive the public.
It was indeed a method possessed by the Gijera.
At the same time, this indirectly showed that the breeding of Gijera was related to the Angel.
Over the next few days, the police in that district did indeed receive missing persons reports.
Stating that five people had gone missing.
In response, GUTS stated: We know nothing about this, please stop looking at us.
Horie didn't step out of the laboratory for several days running.
Yin Xi was even starting to worry whether Horie had been taken hostage by the Gijera.
Fortunately, Horie finally emerged today.
To this day, the Gijera had already used the Angel to amass a large number of human followers.
There were also countless ordinary Gijera.
However, Horie's research brought a glimmer of hope to everyone.
"Through my research over the past few days, these newly appeared Gijera who possess dead humans do not yet possess the ability to grow to giant size."
"What they manifest truly looks as if they were just newly created. This might be related to that Angel."
"I've analyzed the fluctuations emitted by the Gijera; they are different from us humans. Based on this direction, I've developed a special sonic bomb."
"With this sonic bomb, we can distinguish the lesser Gijera from humans and also let the general public know the truth."
"I know what you're all going to say—searching for them one by one is too troublesome, so I also built a sonic diffusion device and mounted it on Guts Wing 2, which will allow for large-scale broadcasting when the time comes."
After a long while, Horie finally finished explaining all his research from the past few days.
Completely oblivious to the looks of utter astonishment from everyone around him.
"Huh? What's wrong? Why are you all looking at me like that?"
At that moment, Yin Xi stepped forward and patted Horie on the shoulder.
"Dora-Horie-mon, having you is the greatest blessing for GUTS."
This remark instantly sent Horie soaring with pleasure.
"Ehhehe, you flatter me, you flatter me, just a small matter, barely worth mentioning, just a walk in the park."
As he spoke, he pulled the special sonic bombs out of his tool bag and handed a set to everyone.
Darram and Hudra got a set as well.
Although the two hadn't officially joined GUTS, if there was any more dirty work to be done later on, the two of them would still have to step up.
Camilla also clenched her fists.
"This time, I'm going to settle accounts properly."
With everyone ready, Iruma Megumi methodically issued her orders.
The Camilla trio would need to deal with two Gijera IIs.
Iruma Megumi didn't know whether Tiga would appear, so she hadn't factored him into the plan.
Rena would pilot Guts Wing 2, while Horie and Munakata released the sonic bombs at the appropriate moment.
As for Shinjo and Daigo, Iruma Megumi had originally intended for them to provide support in Guts Wing 1.
But perhaps remembering something, she ultimately assigned the two of them to handle the lesser Gijera on the ground.
As for Yin Xi, Camilla hadn't assigned him any mission.
This was at Yin Xi's own request, because Yin Xi knew certain plot details from the original story.
The Angel had been hanging in the sky for several days now, but all of this was merely laying the groundwork for the Gates of Hell.
He needed to be constantly on guard against the Gates of Hell. Thinking of this, Yin Xi instinctively touched his chest.
*[It should... be usable, right?]*
