In a single sentence, the eight TPC members present were instantly dumbfounded, and Camilla looked slightly awkward as well.
Even so, it certainly eased the atmosphere quite a bit.
Iruma Megumi also smiled and said, "It seems we haven't been hospitable enough. We'll have someone prepare some food right away."
None of the people present were fools.
They quickly realized that this was a friendly gesture extended to them by the man before them.
Furthermore, it very likely meant that the man before them was a human being.
"Slurp, slurp... You guys... ah, your ramen really tastes pretty decent, oh."
Five empty bowls were already stacked on the conference table.
Horie watched eagerly from the side.
Feeling somewhat miserable, he said to Shinjo, "It's already noon, and I haven't eaten yet. I'm so hungry."
"Tell me about it," Shinjo replied listlessly.
Daigo, on the other hand, chimed in cheerfully, "At least this proves that they really harbor no malicious intent right now, doesn't it?"
After all, he was the one who kept delivering the noodles.
The other party would even smile and say thank you when receiving them.
This greatly increased Daigo's favorable impression of the person before him.
Camilla turned her head away, indicating that she was not familiar with Yin Xi at all.
Even so, there was an empty bowl in front of her as well.
*(The food of humans in this era is actually quite good, much better than those humans from Ultra-Ancient Times who only knew how to fight and kill.)*
After eating and drinking her fill, Yin Xi finally straightened his posture.
Actually, he wasn't truly hungry; he just hadn't eaten in so long and was simply craving food.
After all, his body had been modified by the system.
Seeing that the other party was ready, Iruma Megumi slowly spoke up.
"The two of you, are you human or..."
Hearing this question, Yin Xi was somewhat surprised; he thought the other party would directly ask what their purpose was.
Yin Xi was just about to answer when Camilla cut in ahead of him.
"This kid can currently be considered a genuine human. As for me, the situation is a bit complicated, but you can think of me as human."
Having obtained the answer she wanted, Iruma Megumi nodded thoughtfully.
Perhaps finding it somewhat troublesome, Yin Xi stopped Iruma Megumi, who was about to ask another question.
Ten minutes later.
"So you're saying that the terrifying Evil God Gatanothor is hidden somewhere on Earth?"
"Yes."
Iruma Megumi found it hard to believe.
"Gatanothor is still sealed, but breaking the seal is just a matter of these next few years?"
"Yes."
Director Sawai felt the world go dark before his eyes.
"The giant that appeared before was Tiga Ultraman, who originally sealed Gatanothor. Can he seal it once again?"
"No, the giant is not on Earth right now. That was merely a vessel he used for battle and doesn't possess such immense power. Anything more, you aren't allowed to know yet."
Rena turned her head away in disappointment.
"You said you both came out of those ruins—do you have any solutions?"
"This..."
Yin Xi looked somewhat awkwardly at an excited Daigo.
*(No way, buddy, aren't you the solution?)*
However, Daigo and the others did not doubt the two of them again just because they came from those ruins.
This made Yin Xi very satisfied.
*(The people in GUTS really are all great.)*
Yin Xi also chimed in at the right moment to soothe the situation.
"Daigo, don't get so excited. The revival of the Evil God isn't a good thing for us either, but right now we really don't have a plan."
With that, he also gave Camilla a subtle nudge.
"Sis, say something."
Camilla let out a helpless sigh.
Remembering all the endless chatter Yin Xi had spewed while they were flying over the ocean, she realized that this younger brother of hers clearly understood modern human society's social systems much better than she did.
And so, she silently decided that from then on, Yin Xi would take the lead between the two of them.
Understanding Yin Xi's intention, Camilla cooperated at the appropriate moment.
"My brother is right. The resurrection of Gatanothor is no good thing for me either. Before that happens, I can provide you with some assistance."
Perhaps because she had family by her side, Camilla did not show the same deep hatred for Tiga as she did in the original history.
Yet it made complete sense.
In the eyes of the present Camilla, Yin Xi was her only family.
Her lover had betrayed her, and all her other friends and family had vanished into the long river of time.
Camilla stared at Yin Xi's face, her thoughts gradually drifting away.
*(If I had nothing left now, I probably would have gone mad; but fortunately, I still have a little brother.)*
Watching Yin Xi mingling effortlessly with the members of GUTS, Camilla wore a long-lost smile.
All of this was taken in by Director Sawai and Iruma Megumi.
The two exchanged glances, as if they knew what the other was thinking, and both revealed gentle smiles.
"NANI?! You want to invite us to join GUTS?!"
Yin Xi, somewhat startled, was so surprised that he leaped straight out of his seat and stared intently at Director Sawai and Iruma Megumi, who had spoken.
"I know this is a bit much to ask, but this is by no means an attempt to monitor the two of you. Rather, it is our sincere desire to cooperate better with you both."
With that, Iruma Megumi and Director Sawai bowed in unison.
For a moment, even the other team members were stunned, unsure whether they should follow suit and bow or do something else.
Although he knew they had the habit of bowing...
Yin Xi had indeed never been the recipient of such a formal request.
"Perhaps different from what you imagine, I don't possess anything particularly special myself. The psychic power my sister used earlier to subdue Daigo and his brothers belongs to her alone. You could say I'm a flesh-and-blood human being through and through."
"Mm, a normal human who has lived quite a long time."
Yin Xi paid no mind to Camilla's teasing, turning instead to look at her for confirmation.
Admittedly, Yin Xi desperately wanted to join GUTS, but now he had a newfound older sister to consider, so he had to take her feelings into account.
Seeing Yin Xi asking for her opinion, Camilla couldn't help but feel a warmth in her heart.
Yet, seeing Yin Xi's favorable impression of the people before them, she said nothing, merely smiling and nodding at Yin Xi.
With Camilla's consent, Yin Xi was thrilled.
However, seeing Iruma Megumi and Sawai still standing there with bowed waists, he couldn't help feeling a bit awkward.
"I have one condition. Not all humans are like you people, so I will not accept orders from anyone other than you, Iruma, and I will act based on whether your commands are reasonable or not."
Hearing Yin Xi's response, Director Sawai's expression darkened somewhat.
Yin Xi caught the director's train of thought.
"Don't get me wrong, I don't have any issue with Director Sawai. It's just that you would be subject to too many restrictions. As for me, I hate trouble, so I prefer to directly eliminate whoever causes it."
Director Sawai seemed to realize something, and finally nodded in agreement toward Iruma Megumi.
Iruma Megumi let out a sigh of relief as well.
"I understand, Agent Yin Xi."
One had to admit, TPC's logistics system was truly incredible.
They agreed to join at noon, and by the afternoon, their uniforms were ready.
Their dormitories were assigned by the very next day.
Originally, Sawai had wanted Yin Xi and Camilla's dorms to be next to each other, and Yin Xi had no objections to that.
However, Camilla raised an objection.
She wanted to be neighbors with Rena and Iruma Megumi.
As a result, Yin Xi naturally became Daigo's new next-door neighbor.
Case in point, Daigo and Shinjo were currently helping Yin Xi clean his room, while Horie was busy calibrating various instruments in the room and explaining how to operate them to Yin Xi—since, in Horie's eyes, Yin Xi was an ancient man who had walked straight out of the ruins.
Over on Camilla's side, Rena was helping her decorate her dorm as well.
Just as everything was practically finished, the communication computers in all of their rooms flashed with a red light simultaneously.
Horie hurriedly used Yin Xi's computer to answer it.
Through the screen came Mizuno's anxious voice.
