Two beams of silver light shot from the tips of the wands, intertwining across Quirrell's body. As the silver light flickered, Quirrell's body twitched slightly. His eyelids seemed to flutter, and his lips parted slightly, emitting only a deep, hoarse groan.

Slowly, Quirrell opened his eyes. His gaze was murky and hollow, as though trapped in some deep, impenetrable fog, utterly devoid of vitality. Even upon seeing Snape and Moody pointing their wands directly at him, and with Professor Flitwick hurrying over from a distance on his short legs, he showed no intention of struggling.
