Harry and Hermione didn't buy any souvenirs. One of them simply loved Quidditch and knew nothing about the star players—even though Ron and the others had discussed them more than once—while the other barely understood Quidditch at all, only coming along to help her friend relax before the start of term. As the sun officially rose, the sound of gongs vibrated from a distance, accompanied by a more boisterous roar. Colored lanterns were strung up in the trees, a mix of red and green that emitted a somewhat eerie, shimmering glow; one couldn't expect too much from wizards' aesthetic sense.
