For the first time, Ron realized that battles between wizards could be brutal to such an extreme. Harry’s battles were always graceful. He would weave between spells like a dancer, killing without leaving a trace, executing only a light, effortless sword stroke. Fights between ordinary wizards were not particularly graceful—waving a little wooden stick back and forth. If they were not proficient in Transfiguration or Charms and constantly failed to hit their targets, it just looked as comical as Lockhart. Yet the duel between Bellatrix Lestrange and Neville—no, their life-and-death struggle—was utterly ugly.
