Harry stayed at the Potter family home until evening. Euphemia returned. His grandparents talked on and on about many things they hadn't brought up last year. The friends they wanted to mention, but didn't dare to. Peter, who had died a heroic death—that man who seemed too cowardly to be a Gryffindor, yet at the very last moment of his life, had become a true Gryffindor. And Lupin, that poor little fellow, a werewolf, who had always lived such a pitiful life. More than once, Euphemia had suggested to him that he was welcome to live at the Potter estate; at least it would be a home, and he wouldn't have to keep running around. But he hadn't agreed. He was a werewolf with a strong sense of pride.
