If Hogwarts was famous for anything, the Sorting Hat was certainly near the top of the list, though in terms of raw combat power, it probably wouldn't even register a five on a battle-power scanner.
Hermione had no idea what a battle-power scanner was, but she was well aware of the Sorting Hat's combat capabilities—which was to say, it wasn't helpful in the slightest, unless you counted shouting insults at your enemies while perched on your head during a fight.
In fact, not just Hermione, but everyone else agreed that the Sorting Hat possessed zero combat utility. Aside from talking and sorting young wizards into their houses, it seemed completely useless. Seeing Ye Feng pull it out now left Hermione baffled, and Voldemort on the opposite side was equally bewildered as to why Ye Feng would draw such a ridiculous item at a time like this.
