Cabbage is a biennial herbaceous plant of the cruciferous family. Because its leaves curl inward and wrap tightly around each other to form a spherical head during growth, it is also commonly known as head cabbage or round cabbage.
Due to this characteristic, while a single head of cabbage is not particularly light in weight, it remains quite short, roughly the size of a volleyball and no more than twenty centimeters in height.
